    Hi,
Hope is what we hold onto after being established in Christ and are walking in him. That hope is in his works and in the faithfulness of the promises of God.
    1 Peter 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
    Hebrews 6:18
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

    It follows obedience.

    Colossians 1:23
    If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Those who have not obeyed the demand of God to be reborn do not have this hope.

    1 Thessalonians 4:13
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

    Hi,
This is what SS posted about hope in another thread
“I believe every single person will be judged different depending on what they have been given and not by faith only.

Mat 25:29 FOR UNTO EVERY ONE THAT HATH SHALL BE GIVEN, AND HE SHALL HAVE ABUNDANCE: BUT FROM HIM THAT HATH NOT SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY EVEN THAT WHICH HE HATH.
Mat 25:30 AND CAST YE THE UNPROFITABLE SERVANT INTO OUTER DARKNESS: THERE SHALL BE WEEPING AND GNASHING OF TEETH.

The teaching of Faith ALONE diminishes the work of the greatest fruit of the spirit which is Love! We will be judged according by the Fruits of Love and not by Faith only which is *Faith alone*! Faith and Love are fruits that come from the grace of hope.

1817 HOPE IS THE THEOLOGICAL VIRTUE by which we desire the kingdom of heaven and eternal life as our happiness, placing our trust in Christ's promises AND RELYING NOT ON OUR OWN STRENGTH, BUT ON THE HELP OF THE GRACE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. “Let us hold fast the confession of our HOPE without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” “The Holy Spirit . . . he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, SO THAT WE MIGHT BE JUSTIFIED BY HIS GRACE AND BECOME HEIRS IN HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE.”

Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

1821 We can therefore HOPE in the glory of heaven promised by God to those who love him and do his will. In every circumstance, each one of us should HOPE, with the grace of God, to persevere “to the end” and to obtain the joy of heaven, as God's eternal reward FOR THE GOOD WORKS ACCOMPLISHED WITH THE GRACE OF CHRIST. In HOPE, the Church prays for “all men to be saved.” She longs to be united with Christ, her Bridegroom, in the glory of heaven:

Without God coming into the world there is no grace of hope!

Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having NO HOPE, and WITHOUT GOD IN THE WORLD:

Jesus has come into the world and we now have HOPE.

    Col 1:5 For the HOPE which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Col 1:6 WHICH IS COME UNTO YOU, as it is in all the world; and bringeth FORTH FRUIT, as it doth also in you, SINCE THE DAY YE HEARD OF IT, AND KNEW THE GRACE of God in truth:

Hope brings FORTH THE FRUIT. Hope is not listed as a fruit but instead we are called in Hope.”

But to hear of the Saviour is not the hope spoken of. No man can be saved without showing some response in obedience to the demands of the gospel he brought. We MUST BE reborn.

    Hi,
According to some all have hope as all mankind is saved,
though I am not yet sure about the Jews.
    Who agrees?

    Hi,
How sad it must be to worship at the temple of Science and have no hope.
    Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

    1 Peter 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Topical….some interesting quotes from Nick above. Stu, I bumped this for you as it relates to hope and faith.

Perhaps others will want to contribute as to the hope they have in Christ Jesus? And what that hope means?

    Hi,
True hope is in God, in the works of His son, in the blessing of His Spirit and in the path He has given us to follow. The unsaved man has no hope before his eyes.

    Psalm 31:24
Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

    Psalm 33:18
    Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

    Psalm 119:81
My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.

    Proverbs 26:12
Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
    Acts 24:15
And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

    Romans 8:24
For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

    1 Corinthians 15:18-20
18Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

19If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

    Hi,
To Jews Paul preached the hope of their promised inheritance now accessible in Christ Jesus.
    Acts 26:6
And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers:

    Acts 28:20
For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

He cleverly used their preconceptions to force them to think more deeply

    Acts 23:6
But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

    Acts 24:15
And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

For us that HOPE comes from the Spirit which all christians must be led by
    Romans 5:5
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

    Hi,
There is no true hope outside of Christ Jesus
    Ephesians 2:12
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

    Hello all,

Hope gives us endurance to press on –

    Quote
Heb 6:18 ESV  so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.

Hope also produces in us rejoicing –

    Quote
m 5:2  Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
    Rom.5:2 ESV

God revealed to us the pathway to developing hope personally –

    Quote
Rom 5:3-4 ESV  More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,   and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,

And we need not fear our hope will shame us –

    Quote
Rom 5:5 ESV and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

My prayer for all of us here is –

    Quote
Rom 15:13 ESV  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

    Blessings to all,

    Seeking
