ParticipantI believe that God is a loving God; and when you love people, you do not coerce them by threats of horrible punishments. Consequently, I think all are saved. I don’t think this is cheap grace. Seeing God, coming grace to face with God would be a very humbling experience. We totally underappreciate the power of beauty to chastise. For example, I play French horn, and nothing puts me in my place faster than hearing great horn players. Makes me feel like putting the case under my bed and never tooting again. Same thing in heaven. Furthermore, once free of teh quest for survival, our defenses and boundaries will lower. Then we are open to a far deeper empathic contact with others. Feeling the feelings of others, feeling teh pain of those whom we hurt, is also a really deep chastisement. Imagine Hitler sitting in Heaven, feeling the feelings, the pains, of every one of those people he had tortured. Not an easy experience, definitely not cheap grace or an easy way out.
