but you can read bible then look at reports to see Jesus was here
August 9, 2009 at 7:54 pm#140505StuParticipantYou can read reports of Sherlock Holmes in the writing of Arthur Conan Doyle.
Is Holmes an historical figure?

No, I would expect t8 to say that.Intelligence is what we call the actions of humans who arose by natural selection. The world around us is not more complex than the brain inside us, on the whole.
Stuart
Once again you assert that your posts are the result of intelligence, but this goes against the line of reason presented by these random pulses known as stu, as they give praise to; something from nothing, order from chaos, why deny it now?As to sounding like T8, he may not like the comparison but it is one of the better compliments I've gotten. Too bad it wasn't from a real person, but was just an accident of nature.

It is not meant to be a compliment to be compared to t8. He may be a master of mythological argument about angels dancing on pinheads, but when it comes to empirical reality he is ill prepared to comment.
My first single-celled ancestor, and yours, was an accident of chemistry; since then the natural selection of which we are both products has not been an accidental process save for the random mutations on which it feeds.

Wow, it sure seems to take a lot of faith to believe in your god “natural selection”, it has blindly made innumerable mutations which advanced the many “freaks of nature” to all we see today. Of course the failure of your god to produce immortality has led to the death of…everyone and everything. But what's the big deal we're just off-springs of an accident so; eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die. It seems your god requires only one sacrifice… hope. And as a prophet for your god you spend your efforts attempting to destroy the faith and hopes of others, I guess it is true… misery loves company. My opinion – Wm

Reading your post SJ I don't think it has been me eating, drinking and being merry! You have not disproved that evolution happens by natural selection, so I guess all the thousands of scientists who use it as a computational tool in their work can carry on without too much to worry about.
I don't have any gods.
Immortality is a nonsense concept, except genes “strive” for immortality and some have been around a very long time now.
I have plenty of hope for humanity. I think you have to be christian to lose hope in what you see around you. Your book of spells promises a utopia but no one knows if it really delivers or not. Sounds like a common scam to me, the false hope of religious faith.
You can see the world around you as composed of freaks from an atheist point of view if you want. I like to think it is possible to have a more sophisticated view than that.
