Quote (Nick Hassan @ April 16 2014,20:52) Hi J42,
It is not a gift recorded in 1Cor 12 because all born of the Spirit can learn to hear the Spirit in the Word.
Teaching can make them reliant again on man.
NickThere are different gifts, and we are to seek the gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.
I agree that can make them reliant on man, and lazy too.
but if the spirit of God is not in him, then he will not understand anyway. Not every man that knows Jesus has the power to forgive sins, can understand the prophesies?
maybe some but not most prophesies. If after 10 years or so, one cannot discern, then he needs help from someone that can.
We are supposed to be family Nick.
We are supposed to share everything,
and not hide it for ourselves.
We are not just “man” but supposed to be brothers. If one does not want to learn anything new, then he should just keep to himself and not even come on here.

So how do you KNOW you are gifted in this way?
I say Wakeup is the gifted one.
He shared all he knows with me,
and I share what I learned with others.Like you said, this is not about me,
it's about the truth. These conversations are only stalling. I feel like I have to defend all the time.

You say“So yes, the gift can be proven, but only to the one who understands”
Everyone claims this understanding and their sole criterion is their opinion it seems.
NickNot necessarily, not every one claims they understand.
Most stay quiet, and do not even say a simple thank you, that helps heaps,,

Was this confirmed to you by a vision or a dream or through the laying on of hands?
NickI could tell you the whole plan of God from beginning to end,
and exactly what's going to happen next, and then after that, and then after that, and so on.
I can tell you why God did this or that, what his purpose is.
Why he even created evil. Everything is so clear.I am no better than anyone else. I just happen to be a person who is hungry for truth.
I don't have visions, and I don't have people laying their hands on me. I am not a churchgoer, just a nobody, surrounded by aetheists and pagans in my circle of family and friends.
I prefer to stay away. I'm a loner. And I like it that way.April 16, 2014 at 12:18 pm#378161journey42ParticipantNick
Quote Hi j42

4 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
No, 1 John 2:4 says this1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Quote 25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
It would of been better to quote these few verses before v25, because it is clear what the context is.1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1 John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
1 John 2:24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
Quote 26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
It would be easy for them if I had no knowledge of scriptures. I would be a great target.Quote 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
Nick,I did not go to a bible study and have someone explain the book word for word and teach me their doctrine. I read the bible myself over and over, and asked questions on the things I couldn't comprehend. Without help, I would of been stumped. I needed to move fast. I figured a lot out myself too.
I love 1John. These are my favourite scriptures.
1 John 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
1 John 2:10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
1 John 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

There are teachers and false teachers
There are prophets and false prophetsEveryone's opinion about whether or not they speak the truth is irrelevant.

1Sam 28
3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him and buried him in Ramah, his own city. And Saul had removed from the land those who were mediums and spiritists. 4 So the Philistines gathered together and came and camped in Shunem; and Saul gathered all Israel together and they camped in Gilboa. 5 When Saul saw the camp of the Philistines, he was afraid and his heart trembled greatly. 6 When Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by prophets. 7 Then Saul said to his servants, “Seek for me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her.” And his servants said to him, “Behold, there is a woman who is a medium at En-dor.”8 Then Saul disguised himself by putting on other clothes, and went, he and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night; and he said, “Conjure up for me, please, and bring up for me whom I shall name to you.” 9 But the woman said to him, “Behold, you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off those who are mediums and spiritists from the land. Why are you then laying a snare for my life to bring about my death?” 10 Saul vowed to her by the Lord, saying, “As the Lord lives, no punishment shall come upon you for this thing.” 11 Then the woman said, “Whom shall I bring up for you?” And he said, “Bring up Samuel for me.” 12 When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice; and the woman spoke to Saul, saying, “Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul.” 13 The king said to her, “Do not be afraid; but what do you see?” And the woman said to Saul, “I see a [c]divine being coming up out of the earth.” 14 He said to her, “What is his form?” And she said, “An old man is coming up, and he is wrapped with a robe.” And Saul knew that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground and did homage.
15 Then Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?” And Saul answered, “I am greatly distressed; for the Philistines are waging war against me, and God has departed from me and no longer answers me, either through prophets or by dreams; therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I should do.” 16 Samuel said, “Why then do you ask me, since the Lord has departed from you and has become your adversary? 17 The Lord has done [d]accordingly as He spoke through me; for the Lord has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, to David. 18 As you did not [e]obey the Lord and did not execute His fierce wrath on Amalek, so the Lord has done this thing to you this day. 19 Moreover the Lord will also give over Israel along with you into the hands of the Philistines, therefore tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. Indeed the Lord will give over the army of Israel into the hands of the Philistines!”

Acts 22
“I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated under Gamaliel, [c]strictly according to the law of our fathers, being zealous for God just as you all are today. 4 I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and putting both men and women into prisons, 5 as also the high priest and all the Council of the elders [d]can testify. From them I also received letters to the brethren, and started off for Damascus in order to bring even those who were there to Jerusalem [e]as prisoners to be punished.6 “But it happened that as I was on my way, approaching Damascus about noontime, a very bright light suddenly flashed from heaven all around me, 7 and I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’ 8 And I answered, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said to me, ‘I am Jesus the Nazarene, whom you are persecuting.’ 9 And those who were with me saw the light, to be sure, but did not [f]understand the voice of the One who was speaking to me. 10 And I said, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’ And the Lord said to me, ‘Get up and go on into Damascus, and there you will be told of all that has been appointed for you to do.’ 11 But since I could not see because of the [g]brightness of that light, I was led by the hand by those who were with me and came into Damascus.
12 “A certain Ananias, a man who was devout by the standard of the Law, and well spoken of by all the Jews who lived there, 13 came to me, and standing near said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight!’ And [h]at that very time I looked up at him. 14 And he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear an utterance from His mouth. 15 For you will be a witness for Him to all men of what you have seen and heard. 16 Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’
17 “It happened when I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, that I fell into a trance, 18 and I saw Him saying to me, ‘Make haste, and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about Me.’ 19 And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves understand that in one synagogue after another I used to imprison and beat those who believed in You. 20 And when the blood of Your witness Stephen was being shed, I also was standing by approving, and watching out for the coats of those who were slaying him.’ 21 And He said to me, ‘Go! For I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”
April 16, 2014 at 10:05 pm#378189NickHassanParticipantHi WU,
Acts 26
26 Agrippa said to Paul, “You are permitted to speak for yourself.” Then Paul stretched out his hand and proceeded to make his defense:2 “In regard to all the things of which I am accused by the Jews, I consider myself fortunate, King Agrippa, that I am about to make my defense before you today; 3 [a]especially because you are an expert in all customs and questions among the Jews; therefore I beg you to listen to me patiently.
4 “So then, all Jews know my manner of life from my youth up, which from the beginning was spent among my own nation and at Jerusalem; 5 since they have known about me for a long time, if they are willing to testify, that I lived as a Pharisee according to the strictest sect of our religion. 6 And now I am [c]standing trial for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers; 7 the promise to which our twelve tribes hope to attain, as they earnestly serve God night and day. And for this hope, O King, I am being accused by Jews. 8 Why is it considered incredible among you people if God does raise the dead?
9 “So then, I thought to myself that I had to do many things hostile to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. 10 And this is [d]just what I did in Jerusalem; not only did I lock up many of the [e]saints in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests, but also when they were being put to death I cast my vote against them. 11 And as I punished them often in all the synagogues, I tried to force them to blaspheme; and being furiously enraged at them, I kept pursuing them even to [f]foreign cities.
12 “[g]While so engaged as I was journeying to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests, 13 at midday, O King, I saw on the way a light from heaven, [h]brighter than the sun, shining all around me and those who were journeying with me. 14 And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew dialect, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? [j]It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ 15 And I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. 16 But get up and stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness not only to the things which you have [k]seen, but also to the things in which I will appear to you; 17 rescuing you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, 18 to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.’
19 “So, King Agrippa, I did not prove disobedient to the heavenly vision, 20 but kept declaring both to those of Damascus first, and also at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds appropriate to repentance. 21 For this reason some Jews seized me in the temple and tried to put me to death. 22 So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place; 23 [l]that [m]the Christ was [n]to suffer, and [o]that by reason of His resurrection from the dead He would be the first to proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.”

This is what I see,
The Holy spirit is the spirit of truth. The more truth one hungers for, the more his spirit is filled.
Christ does not reward the spirit of truth to those who despise the word of truth. He may have some truth, but what little he has can be taken away,
do you understand this?
He can be sent into madness, and God sends him there.
He is of no use to anyone in the body of Christ.
and this will be evident in his speech. His words will not harmonise with scripture, but oppose them, and he will love to hinder the others.April 17, 2014 at 2:44 am#378219NickHassanParticipantHi J42,

And what you are saying is that you want me to “lift myself up” is that it? You want me to big note myself?Paul sent Christians to death before Christ appeared to him. Paul gave his testimony.
What you expect of me is contrary to the scriptures.1 Corinthians 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
Acts 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
1 Corinthians 4:19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
1 Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
