Hi Oxy,
You say
“Yes Nick, God is the Father, Jesus is the Son and the Holy Spirit is the Holy Spirit. Together they make up the Godhead. What is it that you find so hard to accept about that?”
Firstly it is a concept that is foreign to scripture.
Secondly the words translated as GODHEAD in scripture do not relate to any such amalgamation.
Thirdly Jesus is the Son of God, not part of a “Godhead”
Fourthly God is not amalgamated with His own Spirit in a “Godhead”.The facile machinations of men believing they can create God in their image is stunningly foolish and dangerous.

We may have to agree to differ on this one Nick. You say Firstly it is a concept that is foreign to scripture.
I say that Scripture embraces it fully. You say Secondly the words translated as GODHEAD in scripture do not relate to any such amalgamation.
I say that Col 2:9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. All the fullness refers to more than the Father. You say Thirdly Jesus is the Son of God, not part of a “Godhead”
I say the Word of God is very much a part of the Godhead as He has always been. You say Fourthly God is not amalgamated with His own Spirit in a “Godhead”.
I say that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, but a seperate identity from the Father, otherwise why would God send the Holy Spirit if it is He Himself?November 20, 2006 at 11:42 pm#32796NickHassanParticipantHi Oxy,
Can you show me trinity taught by any of God's servants?
If not then why would you put yourself above them and teach it?So did the whole trinity dwell in Christ? That seems to make four.
If Jesus has never not been part of God then Son of God is just a convenient label, not a fact.
Why could God's spirit not come to earth and do His work?
That has always been the way.
God has always dwelled in heaven and was there with His son till he sent him to earth and filled him with His own Spirit which he now fills into all His adopted sons.
No trinity there.November 21, 2006 at 5:25 am#32821OxyParticipantSo you keep saying Nick. There are none so blind…….

Actually Nick, it's not just translated by the Old KJV as Godhead. The verse you quoted (Acts 17:29) says that the Godhead is greater than our comprehension, and not to be compared with idols.
Other verses as follows:
Rom 1:20
(AMP) For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification], [Ps. 19: 1-4.]
(CEV) God's eternal power and character cannot be seen. But from the beginning of creation, God has shown what these are like by all he has made. That's why those people don't have any excuse.
(ESV) For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
(KJV+) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
(MKJV) For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being realized by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse.
(RV) For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse:
(Webster) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
(YLT) for the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world, by the things made being understood, are plainly seen, both His eternal power and Godhead–to their being inexcusable;
And then this this one:
Col 2:9
(AMP) For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature].
(CEV) God lives fully in Christ.
(ESV) For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,
(KJV+) For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
(MKJV) For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
(RV) for in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,
(Webster) For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
(YLT) because in him doth tabernacle all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,
So argue with Scripture if you will Nick, but I have seen enough.

Nick, you are right in that Godhead refers to the Divinity of God. It also applies to the fullness of God in three different aspects. The divinity of God is as such:The Father, God Almighty.
The Son of God, divine with the fullness of God
The Holy Spirit, the Intercessor between man and God.This is the divinity of God.

It would be so much better if we could share understandings and walk together. Ther bereans went and checked scripture to see if Paul was aligned with the truth but we can't do that.Your reliance on personal revelation makes it impossible for either of us to check each other as no one else seems to get the same messages you do, which surely should not happen if we all share the same Spirit?
