Steve let Tigars run around with the park visitors.
No, never been there.I was close, but had limited time on my hands.
But did go to other parks.
Here's some pics of my trip to Queensland:
The last one was taken at Lake McKenzie. Can you tell from the sand?
September 8, 2008 at 9:42 am#104383charityParticipantyes the sand is nice t8, I love sitting in the sand, and just letting it sift between my fingers, also did ya know… Lake McKenzie has been surrounded with fencing now. A shame.

September 8, 2008 at 9:50 am#104385ProclaimerParticipantI think there was a fence when I went there, but there must have been a gate. If it was there, then it was mostly hidden from view in the bushes, so it didn't look bad. At least I don't remember thinking, ouch look at that ugly fence.

I have this image posted on another website but it is lacking information about the pic.

eye catchingSeptember 11, 2008 at 5:32 am#104634charityParticipantMount Warning is the first place in Australia to see the sun rise each day, with people climbing up at night with torches to be the first people to see the sun rise for the day…..yep and I had to do it in the dark… to see the glory of nature arise
September 11, 2008 at 12:37 pm#104660ProclaimerParticipantI did a walk at night once under a full moon to the top of a volcano in New Zealand.
I slept for a few hours at the top and woke up freezing and covered in volcanic sand. But it was worth it coz I got this pic fist thing in the morning. It clouded over less then one hour later.
I slept near the edge of the lake.I also did the same walk in Spring during the day and got these pics.
The park is called Tongariro National Park and it is often covered in cloud. When I returned to the car, I heard what sounded like a cork popping out of a bottle. I look under the car and a cap came off the the bottom of the radiator because the water was frozen.
September 11, 2008 at 11:56 pm#104710charityParticipantwow….t8 the top picture is like a painting. FANTASTIC!!
THAT IS WORTH A SLEEP OUT!
no WOUNDER THEY FILM MOVIES IN New Zealand
have you ever developed your pictures, home Lab?
September 12, 2008 at 2:40 am#104732ProclaimerParticipantI take slides and have a high end scanner at home.
I license my images and they have been used quite extensively.
I see them in the most unlikely of places sometimes.Yes New Zealand is beautiful, but I have a soft spot for Australia too.
A few years ago I wanted to go to Alice Springs and I had already booked a ticket to Sydney. But Ansett went out of business and I couldn't get to Alice in the time I had. So I rented a car and the guy at the Car Rental recommended Jervis Bay. So I went there and wow, it was amazing. The problem was the sand was too white and my camera couldn't handle the amount of contrast. See the following pic:
I also visited Canberra on that trip and it just happened to be ANZAC day.
And then I went inland back to Sydney via Kosciuszko National Park.
After that, some beautiful rural scenery:
Then through the Blue Mountains:
Still want to get to Alice Springs as I have a friend there. Maybe next year?
September 12, 2008 at 7:55 am#104772charityParticipantyour very talented t8… thank you for sharing those pictures, they are spectacular….
oh yes I remember when Ansett went out of business, wow that's a while ago now?
I would like to see Ayers rock one of these days, everything's fenced off, and my baby's big enough to get the dingo's.September 12, 2008 at 8:05 am#104773September 12, 2008 at 10:01 am#104774ProclaimerParticipant - AuthorPosts
