    Hi All:

Genesis 1 shows that God created the heavens and the earth in six days and rested on the seventh day.

The following scripture indicates that we as believers are striving to enter into God's rest.

    Quote
    Hebrews 4
    4:1
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
    4:2
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
    4:3
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
    4:4
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh * * day from all his works.
    4:5
And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
    4:6
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein *, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
    4:7
Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
    4:8
For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
    4:9
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
    4:10
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
    4:11
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Relative to the sixth day of the creation story the scripture states:

    Quote
    1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
    1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

The question that I want to pose here is: “Are we still in the sixth day”?  God said, “let 'us' make man in our image”.  The first man was made a living soul, and God created him out of the dust of the earth and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils and he became a living soul, but he was not the finished product.  The last man Adam was made a quickening (life-giving spirit).

    Quote
    Joh 1:3
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

    Quote
    2Co 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

And so, by God saying let “us” make man in our image, he is speaking of Himself by his Holy Spirit and to the sons of God through His Word.  Jesus being the finished product.

    Quote
    Hebrews 1
    1:1
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
    1:2
    Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
    1:3
    Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had * by himself purged * our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

God by His Holy Spirit is now also forming our spirit through the Spirit of the perfected Son our Lord and employing us in the process as we preach the gospel to every creature and teach those who accept Jesus as their Lord the Word of God.

Genesis 1 shows God resting on the Seventh day because the works were finsihed from the foundation of the world.  In other words, God has seen every thing from the begining to the completion.

    Quote
    4:3
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

When Jesus was accused of violating the Sabbath day indicated that He and God were still working in this process.

    Quote
    5:16
And therefore * * did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
    5:17
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto *, and I work.

And so, I conclude, that we as born again believers, are in the sixth day, laboring to enter into “His rest”, God's Sabbath rest.

942767 We are in His rest, Christ fulfilled it all. We are under grace and not under the Law that God gave to Moses. We have a new Covenant in Christ Jesus our Lord. Not everyone will agree with me, but that is what my Husband and I believe. That is according to scriptures which we studied intensely.
Especially my Husband always starts His study with a Prayer to God to ask Him for His Wisdom and I believe He has given it to Him.
    Peace and Love Mrs.
