How did this come about?
By man's interpretation?
June 28, 2007 at 7:29 pm#58757NickHassanParticipantHi ACC,
Non comprendo amigoJune 28, 2007 at 11:09 pm#58758acertainchapParticipantAre the meanings of the words forever and eternity (endless) a figment of imagination made up by people or was God trying to put an entirely different meaning across, such as forever and eternity meaning an extremely lengthy amount of time?
Or are we right in this interpretation of this meaning endless?
June 28, 2007 at 11:12 pm#58759acertainchapParticipantThough being in hell without end is terrible, the thought of being with God in Heaven without end is extremely pleasing. I would like you to enlighten me on the above post, please.

Endless is a misstranslation of the words Aionian or eonian.
Aion or eon means age. Aionian means during or through the age.Tim

June 29, 2007 at 3:19 pm#58764Adam PastorParticipantHave a look at
Age or Eternity – translating the Greek “aion” correctly
Aionios — The Word to Unlock the Future
Oh BTW,
there is NO going to Heaven …
that is another “figment of imagination made up by people”June 29, 2007 at 6:45 pm#58765acertainchapParticipantActually Heaven isn't a figment of imagination, it's a real place.
June 29, 2007 at 7:01 pm#58766Adam PastorParticipantI said “going to Heaven”
June 29, 2007 at 7:03 pm#58767acertainchapParticipantHi Adam,
Actually, the soul can go to heaven.
June 29, 2007 at 7:11 pm#58768Adam PastorParticipantJune 29, 2007 at 7:31 pm#58769acertainchapParticipantRevelation 22 (New International Version)
The River of Life
1Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. 6The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.”

(Rev 21:2) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.(Rev 21:10) And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
June 29, 2007 at 11:17 pm#58771acertainchapParticipantOh I know this is true. Is that what you were trying to get across?
June 30, 2007 at 4:20 am#58772LaurelParticipantchap, hell is eternal, but those who are condemned to die the second death are burned up and turn to ash and dust. If they burned forever in hell, then life in hell would also be everlasting, and this is contradictory to Scripture.

Hi Laurel, what happens to hell when it is cast into the lake of fire?
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
