Thanks! 👍
December 9, 2019 at 1:10 pm#848648ProclaimerParticipantFace it t8? lol.
Here is the farce.
Jesus spoke of the sun and the moon. The stars were the lights we see in the sky. We know that these lights are a number of different objects, nevertheless, they are neither the main two bodies that light our planet because he said sun, moon, and stars. So the other lights are the third group. And we read in scripture that they can fall to earth. So when one actually falls and it hits the atmosphere and burns up or actually remains intact and lands on the ground as frequently happens, suddenly Mike says this is basically a fourth group that doesn’t count. lol. Great clear thinking there.
December 9, 2019 at 10:01 pm#848653ProclaimerParticipantYou call science scientism and I agree that not all science is true knowledge.
But you have in this case cherry picked stars to only have it’s modern meaning so that I am forced to say that suns will fall to the earth so that the stars cannot be suns. And I am not allowed to say that meteors are stars. What a joke.
A pathetic argument you are making.
In short, nothing you have said negates a meteor shower. But somehow you use Jesus words combined with a modern view of science to narrow down the meaning of stars to suns only if we take the heliocentric model, and use this view that you don’t agree with to negate the possibility of a meteor shower. Further, you state a fourth group of objects that Jesus never even mentioned.
But anyone with a clue would know that stars to the ancients were simply the lights that we see in the sky and they knew not of their exact nature. You cannot deny that. Thus, you have not argued away a meteor shower as being the event spoken of and so it stands as an option.
December 10, 2019 at 2:16 am#848660Dig4truthParticipantIn short, nothing you have said indicates you have been listening and/or understanding this topic. As it has been pointed out, you have to deny that when Yeshua said “the stars will fall” that He actually did mean a star. You have to assume that a star can be any shiny thing in the sky. Because “ancient man” was so dumb that there was no way for them to understand. Another evolutionary myth. “Ancient man” was highly intelligent.
December 10, 2019 at 8:29 am#848664ProclaimerParticipantThe fact remains is we see lights fall from the sky to this day and they are rocks.
Clear as day, you lost this battle.
And stop smoking the wacky backy.December 10, 2019 at 12:23 pm#848678Dig4truthParticipantBut the Word of God doesn’t say “lights”, it says “stars”.
December 10, 2019 at 12:23 pm#848679Dig4truthParticipantGame, set, match.
December 10, 2019 at 2:58 pm#848680mikeboll64BlockedWhat Jehovah, Jesus, and the writers of scripture called “stars” are what we also call “stars”. Or do you have evidence to the contrary?
Now, let’s try it your way…
Mark 13
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately, 4 “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?”
5 Jesus said to them…
24 “But in those days, following that distress,
the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light;25the stars will fall from the sky,and the heavenly bodies will be shakenpeople will see flowers blooming, ‘shooting stars’, and ‘rocket launches’ just like they do all the time. 26 At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.”NOW do you finally see how ludicrous your rescue device is? Heck, you just told D4T: “The fact remains is we see lights fall from the sky to this day and they are rocks.”
First of all, how were you able to verify that they’re “rocks”? Please show us your scientific proof. Secondly (and more importantly), you are making OUR point and are apparently oblivious to the fact you’re doing it. The very fact that we see “lights fall from the sky to this day” (still waiting for your explanation for why meteors never rise UP into the sky – as they most certainly would in your model) should tell you that this could not possibly be what Jesus would use as a sign of his return. That’s why I added the “flowers blooming” part above. Because that’s how stupid it would have been for Jesus – when asked for the signs of his return – to name stuff that people have seen happening nonstop for thousands of year. Do you seriously still not get that?
“What will be the signs, Jesus?”
“Well, you’ll see flowers blooming fellas.”
“Um, Lord… we don’t mean to sound disrespectful here, but that’s not a very good sign, since we’ve seen flowers blooming year round our entire lives, and will continue to see them til the day we die. Could you maybe mention a sign that will STAND OUT as something people DON’T see all the time?”
You finally getting it yet? The signs are a bunch of things that AREN’T normal everyday occurrences. For example…
Mark 13:14
“When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’ a standing where it does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.”
Now your way…
“When you see flowers blooming, then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.”
Get it now? They aren’t to flee to the mountains when they see a normal everyday occurrence. They are to flee when they see something so out of the ordinary that nobody’s ever seen it before.
And finally, let me echo D4T’s point that the ancients weren’t less intelligent than we are today. They were orders of magnitude more intelligent than we are. To this day we still couldn’t build the pyramids – and haven’t a clue how they did. Or Stonehenge. Or a thousand other ancient things like the Antikythera mechanism that people in Jesus’ day used to “predict” eclipses and other astronomical events with the same precision that they are tracked today. You’ve been indoctrinated into thinking WE’RE the smart ones. Nothing could be further from the truth. The most intelligent human being alive today couldn’t hold a candle to what the average 14 year old kid knew back then.
December 10, 2019 at 3:53 pm#848681ProclaimerParticipantBut the Word of God doesn’t say “lights”, it says “stars”.
Lol. The thinking process of a Flat Earther in full daylight for all to see.
Lights in the sky are stars.
There were and are two great lights, and the rest of the stars are small lights.
Some fall, some wander, some are fixed so to speak. Wandering stars are planets. The ones that fall are rocks. We know the latter because this type of event is not that uncommon. I’ve even seen falling stars too many times to remember and even saw one fly over my house or thereabouts. It made the local news too.
Hilarious debating with Flat Earthers. But at least readers here can see your thought processes and why you have fallen for this delusion. Your ability to grasp even the most simple argument falls flat like your earth. No wonder you think the earth is flat.
December 10, 2019 at 7:07 pm#848684ProclaimerParticipantThe other thing that is really simple to grasp but seems to have flown over both your heads is the fact that these kinds of events occur today, yesterday, and have done for ages. Jesus also mentioned earthquakes and we just had one of those today along with a volcanic eruption. Big deal. Obviously Jesus is talking about significant events. Significant earthquakes, meteor showers or comets. Significant wars. ‘Significant’ is the key.
What you guys have shown me is when your heart errs, then you become biased and the bias becomes a filter by which all things are seen through. In short you are cult members. I saw and experienced the exact same thing with Trinitarians. Unable to see things clearly.
December 11, 2019 at 1:36 am#848692Dig4truthParticipantWell, back to the condescending remarks I see. Yes, the readers can see.
No big deal about the volcano? Mention that the family members grieving their losses.December 11, 2019 at 10:52 am#848698ProclaimerParticipantAnd once again you err.
No big deal in that it is not a biblical event. In other words, a catastrophe, but not a biblical event.
The point once again is earthquakes, wars, stars falling, eruptions, have always happened. But when the bible talks about it, it is referencing specific quakes, wars, etc. Or it is referencing a time when these things will be prolific or huge.
Try to pay attention please. It saves time and you won’t come across looking as silly as you do.
Bridle the tongue diggy.
December 11, 2019 at 10:52 am#848699ProclaimerParticipantBetter to Remain Silent and Be Thought a Fool than to Speak and Remove All Doubt
December 12, 2019 at 1:21 am#848704Dig4truthParticipantAnd once again someone must try to feel superior to others.
There IS a qualifier in the Scripture about earthquakes in the end time. It says there will be earthquakes in “various places”. And they are also matched up with famine and pestilence. So there will be a difference. But has the powers of the heavens been shaken lately? Do you see that happening regularly?I would dare say that the volcano was a biblical event for some. In a disaster sometimes God’s love and mercy can come shinning through. Hopefully some of the family members have been driven to their knees by this tragedy.
December 12, 2019 at 1:29 am#848705mikeboll64BlockedJesus also says that the earthquakes and wars are not the end, but only the beginning of the birth pangs. THEN comes the abomination of desolation (a unique event that hasn’t happened before)… and THEN the sun and moon not giving THEIR light (because they each have their own light) and the stars falling to the earth (more events that haven’t happened before).
December 12, 2019 at 1:36 am#848706mikeboll64BlockedAlso consider that the dragon’s tail sweeps a third of the stars from the sky and casts them to the earth. What is meant by “stars” there? Is he talking about a third of the missiles and meteors? Or will the sky be missing a third of the constant lights Jesus and we know as stars?
December 12, 2019 at 10:26 am#848710ProclaimerParticipantI would say he is talking about angels.
December 12, 2019 at 10:28 am#848711ProclaimerParticipantIf the sun and moon are not giving their light it is because their light is being blocked. A number of natural events can cause this and they are all catastrophic.
December 12, 2019 at 10:30 am#848712ProclaimerParticipantAnd once again someone must try to feel superior to others.
It’s not about feeling superior but the disbelief at the foolish arguments made here at times. When it is explained and one gets more foolishness in return, then how do you expect people to react. And even worse, you think that is fueled by one’s desire to be superior. No, it is simply the way people react when they are fed BS.
Think about it. Words are like food that we consume. But what you are offering me is BS. One taste and you get a predicted reaction. That is not me trying to be superior to you, but I suspect that is what you want to believe it is. But no. It is just a normal reaction.
December 12, 2019 at 10:33 am#848713ProclaimerParticipantI would dare say that the volcano was a biblical event for some. In a disaster sometimes God’s love and mercy can come shinning through. Hopefully some of the family members have been driven to their knees by this tragedy.
A God thing perhaps, but prophecied in scripture I say no. Or at least not prophecied directly as the event itself, but perhaps referenced by its nature.
