Not enough room on Earth for you?
Sick of being confined to one planet?
Why not try and discover your own planet.Due to the immense amount of data, scientists are enlisting the help of the public to find planets. And indeed some have discovered planets.
Go to this site and follow the easy instructions.
http://www.planethunters.org/- We find new planets by looking at how the brightness of a star changes over time
- As the planet passes in front of the star we see a dip in the light from it. Depending on how far the planet is from the star, you may see one or many dips in the lightcurve
- Click the plus button and drag the box to mark them or just draw a box over the points
- Transit hunting is hard and requires practice!
- You can use the bottom sliders to zoom
Good luck.
