Quote (bodhitharta @ Feb. 02 2010,09:02) What I will do at this point is where I see an edit made when posting in a debate or response I will ask what was the nature of the edit, hopefully they will respond in kind and truthfully.
It shouldn't matter unless the edit is older than any replying post.February 2, 2010 at 8:30 am#175122bodhithartaParticipantQuote (t8 @ Feb. 02 2010,19:00) Quote (kejonn @ Feb. 02 2010,02:25) Ah, just as I thought. You believe that only “Christians” will be honest and not edit posts to either misrepresent or otherwise do harm to this forum. It shows that you are bigoted against those who do not share your god belief and doubt they can practice honesty because they do not fear any god. But that is OK, it is your site after all, and you at least allow us to continue to post here, albeit only in certain sections. Many other Christian sites would not even allow that for fear of their faith being questioned.
Actually no I do not believe that. I believe that those with faith and who believe in Jesus teachings have a duty to be righteous, fair, and honest. But that doesn't always work out that way and some may start of believing and finish up not believing. To me, there is one advantage and that is their duty to act righteously. I do not have any form of guarantee from others, although it is possible that some may non-believers may be more honest than most, it is just that I have no guarantee or evidence that they believe in honesty.
How are Muslims not honest and Christians are? we both have decided the path of Christ and submit to the Lord God.February 2, 2010 at 8:37 am#175124ProclaimerParticipantI am not saying that.
I am saying that as a whole, there is more reason for the Regular Members group to honour the agreement with usage of the edit button and the Skeptics group less so. I agree that you may be trustworthy, but it also depends on what you believe. For example, a Muslim could use Jihad as an excuse to destroy something. I don't know if you would do that though.
BTW permissions are set by group and not individuals. Members, Skeptics, and Guests do not have editing rights. Regular Members do. People get put into that group when they regularly post and have shown that they are the kind of person to not abuse that feature.
I know this is not an exact science, but there is no other way of doing this. In some ways I would prefer that all had no editing rights, that way there is no risk and I don't have the responsibility of deciding on who. On the other hand, editing rights does improve the grammar and language of posts and this is quite important for readers. The clearer a post is and the easier to understand it, the better. Editing allows for this.

So you don't feel that the others have a right to be understood?February 3, 2010 at 4:14 am#175288ProclaimerParticipantYou are missing the point BD.
It only takes one person to abuse that feature to stuff up a topic and they could easily render multiple topics useless or very hard to follow. That is all I am saying.I am the one who has to fix things when they break down and I know how human nature works.
Do you honestly think that every person here would honour the reasons for the edit feature if they had it. According to the history of this site, the answer is no, and it is very hard to pick which people will abuse the feature. So it is given to those who have extensively posted here and have shown that they are trustworthy and not disgruntled either.

Are you “Heaven”?Anyone can become disgruntled at anytime ask the post office employees who after years of dedication became killers.
You should make it the same for everyone or just for moderators
February 3, 2010 at 9:08 am#175368StuParticipantI have posted here for 3 1/2 years and I think I have demonstrated myself trustworthy, but apparently I am not trusted all the same. Just goes to show you what a paranoid mindset some christians must have.
Forget it BD, just post corrected versions of any post that comes out wrong the first time. If you fill the boards up with corrections and it looks messy, well you don't need to feel bad about that!

You are entitled to your opinion BD.Editing gives no advantage, just makes posts read a bit better from time to time.
And please after years of dedication to Heaven Net, please don't kill anyone.

Thanks!I just didn't want to think I was talking to two different people as it could be weird if I was to say something like:
Heaven, I don't think T8….
Of course I have no complaint against you anyway but it's good to know tha if I did I could just say
Heaven, I don't think you….
I will tell you though that when you post as Heaven it is completely objective in a way that is downright unbelieveable.
Blessings!
February 4, 2010 at 4:04 am#175580princess of the kingParticipantt, how many times have you had to answer the question: are you heaven?
February 4, 2010 at 8:22 am#175630karmarieParticipantAt first i thought heaven was a female -I have NO idea why?

I must admit, I did too!February 5, 2010 at 8:43 am#175924ProclaimerParticipantYes, the admin role is a bit motherly. However, the Admin role also doesn't engage in conversation on any of the topics, just topics about running the board, so maybe you guys have mothers or females in your lives that are administrators. Or maybe it is my kind nature?

you must likely were taking this into consideration with tJas 3:17 and the wisdom from above, first, indeed, is pure, then peaceable, gentle, easily entreated, full of kindness and good fruits, uncontentious, and unhypocritical: —
