This article about 06.story#axzz2qpVGLEzA” target=”_blank”>the evolution of dogs and wolves is a bunch of nonsense.
There is no evidence that dogs and wolves are different kinds of animals as the article admits that they interbreed and have live offspring. There is a difference in genes, possibly only gene alleles as dogs have adapted to better handle starches than wolves.
It might be that there is a difference in gene count. The dog sample was a strange selection that seemed to have included only wild dogs while the wolves was limited to three gray wolves from divergent countries.
I would say it is a preliminary study that does not prove anything new though it does introduce possibilities.
