Hi LU,
God is not apart from men so as to be studied theologically.
He is close to all and wants all to be savedOctober 1, 2014 at 3:53 pm#778334LightenupParticipantNick,
God is not apart from men so as to be studied theologically.
Nick, men can become a god unto themselves when they believe whatever comes to mind, I can tell you don’t study theology, btw.
God has given us the Bible to study to show ourselves approved. Dig in…
2 Tim 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.October 1, 2014 at 3:56 pm#778335LightenupParticipantNIck,
you asked:Why is knowing ABOUT GOD important?
Faith comes by hearing about God.
October 1, 2014 at 3:58 pm#778336LightenupParticipantNick,
Please answer:
Please tell me what type of being the Son was before He came in the flesh. Was He an always existent eternal being or a created being?October 1, 2014 at 4:11 pm#778337NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Hearing about God??
Which scripture is this??
Jesus did not exist before flesh. He was conceived in Mary.
The Word was made flesh.
October 1, 2014 at 4:12 pm#778338NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God.
Rightly divide it please
October 1, 2014 at 4:13 pm#778339NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Do you think studying the bible makes us approved of God?
It saves nobody. You must be born again.

See for yourself where people are learning about God from Paul and some follow him and believe…let him be an example of teaching people about God and witnessing people come to faith through this:Acts 17:22So Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I observe that you are very religious in all respects. 23“For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you. 24“The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; 25nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; 26and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, 27that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’ 29“Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man. 30“Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, 31because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.” 32Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some began to sneer, but others said, “We shall hear you again concerning this.” 33So Paul went out of their midst. 34But some men joined him and believed, among whom also were Dionysius the Areopagite and a woman named Damaris and others with them.

you said:Jesus did not exist before flesh. He was conceived in Mary.
The person existed before conception in Mary which is popularly called the incarnation. Amazing isn’t it!
October 2, 2014 at 4:06 pm#778569NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Should you follow what is popular?
The foolish theologians who invent stuff and add it to scripture?October 2, 2014 at 4:08 pm#778570NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Yes you should listen to Paul and read all he wrote.
He said for us there is ONE GOD and One Lord Jesus Christ?Would you try to turn his words against each other?
October 2, 2014 at 4:42 pm#778572NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Do other men exist before they are conceived too?October 2, 2014 at 9:32 pm#778581ProclaimerParticipantJohn 17:3
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.John 10:27
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.2 Corinthians 11:3
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.1 Corinthians 3:18
Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise.Romans 1:22-23
For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man…1 Corinthians 8:6
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.It is the darkness of a foolish heart that imagines God in the image that they desire. But God reveals himself to man, not man revealing God. The multitudes of religions and doctrines that imagine God to be something else show that the world is in darkness and many have become fools.

How many persons who are called theos somewhere in scripture must you believe in and follow to have everlasting life?
All three of you, please answer this fundamental question.
The answer calls for a number, please leave your ‘spin’ out of it. Look at the facts.one God almighty , i do not believe their is any other like him , do you ?
October 3, 2014 at 4:53 pm#778717LightenupParticipant@t8
One does seem pretty foolish when they acknowledge Jesus as a theos but haven’t got a clue as to whom He is a theos to. This is elementary. All creatures bow before Him.October 3, 2014 at 4:56 pm#778718LightenupParticipant@NickHassan
No other man existed as Jehovah of hosts or anything else before conception. That is only an accomplishment for Jehovah of hosts that Peter identifies as Jesus.October 3, 2014 at 4:58 pm#778719LightenupParticipantTwo who are called theos are given the honor of having dominion over all created things. There is no other like them.

The son did not exist and God ad glory on his own,
The was created for a reason ,for God does not do anything for nothing
October 5, 2014 at 8:19 am#779089LightenupParticipantI believe the Son always existed you believe that He didn’t. That is probably the root of our main differences. I don’t believe that scripture is in your favor. I see Jesus as identified as Jehovah of hosts by Peter and the NT identifies Jesus with the same titles as Jehovah in the OT. Also, as the wisdom in Prov 8:22, the Father possessed Him at the beginning of the Father’s way, which was eternal. He was God with God in the beginning. No where are we told that He becomes God. We call on His name, pray in His name, pray to Him, believe in Him for eternal salvation. He is one of the two persons who are called theos in scripture that are given the honor of having dominion over all creation, etc.
You seem to believe that we can pray to a created being and it is ok to do so and not idolatry. You seem to believe that we can pray in the name of a created being for your basic needs and desires to be met and that somehow that is not idolatry. You seem to believe that a righteous created person can save all mankind which goes against scripture. You seem to believe that the glory given to the one on the throne in Rev 5 can also be given to a created being and that is somehow not idolatry. You seem to believe that it is ok to bow before a created being and consider him Lord of all in heaven and on earth and that is somehow not idolatry…and on and on.
Therefore, what you believe and promote is what I believe to be considered idolatry, I don’t know how you get around that.
We are not even to call on the name of another god as per Jehovah.

the above contains 3 x “I”= ego
tell me does God realy care of what we would think of his truth beside accepting it as it as be written ?
PS 50:17 “For you hate discipline,
And you cast My words behind you.
PS 56:5 All day long they distort my words;
All their thoughts are against me for evil.I believe what the word of God says I will not had or take away anything for if i do the truth will be no longer the truth but my stumbling block ,
