    Marty,
But it is Jesus' goodness/righteousness that saves us and that was what the young man was asking about…what can he do to obtain eternal life. Jesus tells him that there is one good and to follow him if he wishes to be complete. So, I think that the NASB translation seems to be more fitting to the situation. Jesus is good after all.

    Hi LU,
Indeed in the Spirit you can know the Father and the Son and commune with them.

    Hi,
Jesus gave up his spirit on calvary but was alive still in the Holy Spirit.
God did not leave him or forsake him.
    God cannot die

    Nick,
Are you saying that Jesus' spirit that He gave up remained alive?

    Hi Kathi:

    You asked:

    Who is the husband?

Jesus is the husband of the church, watching over God's Word to perform it.

    Love in Christ,
    Marty

    Hi Marty,
Thanks, now let me ask you this…is the Father the husband of the church too?

    Nick,
Do you think that a soul can die or must it be destroyed by God?

    Hi LU,
No mention of spirit death anywhere.
But spirit is the LIFE lent to us by God.

    So Nick,
Do you think that we give back our life and it is no longer ours after we die?

    Hi LU,
Unless we are given the Spirit of Christ we will not be raised to meet with him in the first resurrection.[Rev 20, 1cor 15, jn5]
All the rest are raised 1000 years later to face the sheep and goat judgement.

    Hi Kathi:

Jesus said that he only did what the Father showed him to do. It was because of the goodness of the Father that he was sent to humanity.

    Hi LU,
Jesus ascribed goodness to the Father.
No man is born righteous or can make himself good.
Even the first step, repentance, is a gift from God.[2tim 2.25]

    Lightenup.

Rev.11:11.And after three days and a half THE SPIRIT IF LIFE FROM GOD ENTERED IN TO THEM,and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

THE SPIRIT OF LIFE ENTERED INTO THEM.tHIS IS THE SPIRIT OF LIFE FROM GOD,WHICH WE ALL HAVE IN US.
AS ONE DIES,THAT SPIRIT GOES BACK TO GOD.

What is the soul? The body and and the spirit of life = a living soul.It is the soul that will be judged; the persons works while alive; his works. Is it good or bad. It is the soul that can die.
The spirit of life can never die,it simply goes back to God.

    wakeup.

    Hi WU
The word for LIFE in the verse in rev 11 is ZOE [2222]
Other words are used for natural life
It refers to eternal Spirit life

    Marty,
It was the goodness of the Son to be willing to go. The Son is our righteousness.

1 Cor 1:30But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, 31so that, just as it is written, “LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD.”

    Nick,
Jesus by His very inherent God nature has always been righteous and He has never ceased to be righteous.

If He were just a man, his righteous could not redeem even one man…yet, Jesus' righteousness even to the point of death, provided redemption for all men.
