ParticipantBrown University’s Community Newspaper States that the Sabbath Must Be Enforced Even If It Inconveniences Others
On March 31, 2025, The Brown Daily Herald, the newspaper serving the Ivy League Brown University community in Providence, Rhode Island, ran an article in which it called for Sabbath rest to be “enforced” and said that it must be “communal,” meaning that a day of rest must be imposed by force upon all members of the community. This is, in theory, the very essence and meaning of a Sunday law. The university’s community newspaper doubled down on the enforcement of the Sabbath by claiming that sacrifices must be made even if it inconveniences other people.
The Brown Daily Herald expressed the following:
• “On Sunday afternoons, I would go to church with my friends and spend the rest of the day with them playing cards and making dumplings.” [1]
• “To observe the Sabbath day is one of the Ten Commandments. However, in my experience, it’s the one commandment that Christians, myself included, don’t even make an effort to keep. We live in a culture that prizes the hustle and devalues rest.” [1]
• “The purpose of the Sabbath is not to improve productivity but to eschew it.” [1]
• “The Sabbath must be enforced, and it must be communal. Forced rest might seem like an oxymoron, but just like exercise or study, rest is something that should be done regularly, even when it isn’t convenient. Put it on your Google Calendar. A 24-hour day of rest is ideal — my Sabbath is noon on Saturday to noon on Sunday — but if you can’t do that, take 12 hours. Take three hours. Like any commitment, the Sabbath entails sacrifice.” [1]
The enforcement of a false day of rest through civil legislation will trample on the rights of conscience, compelling everyone to conform to a false system of worship under the threat of economic and social sanctions. This is the very definition of the mark of the beast. This is what many in society are trying to lead us to. Those who, faithful to God, sanctify the Sabbath, the seventh day, as opposed to Sunday, will face persecution as state power imposes religious laws that contradict God’s divine command.True worship can never be legislated, and the Lord’s Sabbath is a sign between Him and His people, a sacred rest that stems from love and conviction, not coercion. The state may demand outward compliance, but genuine obedience to God can only come through the working of the Holy Spirit in the heart, never by the force of human law.
We truly live in a time when the following inspired statements are unfolding before our very eyes:
“False religion will be exalted. The first day of the week, a common working day, possessing no sanctity whatever, will be set up as was the image at Babylon. All nations and tongues and peoples will be commanded to worship this spurious Sabbath [Sunday]. This is Satan’s plan to make of no account the day instituted by God, and given to the world as a memorial of creation.” (Bible Commentary, Vol. 7, p. 976).
“God’s memorial, the seventh-day Sabbath, the sign of His work in creating the world, has been displaced by the man of sin. God’s people have a special work to do in repairing the breach that has been made in His law; and the nearer we approach the end, the more urgent this work becomes. All who love God will show that they bear His sign by keeping His commandments” (Testimonies, Vol. 6, p. 265).

ParticipantWith 43% of Project 2025 Already Enacted, America is Undergoing a Significant Christian Conservative Political Shift
The 100th day of Donald Trump’s second presidency will take place on April 30, 2025, and already 43% of Project 2025 has already been implemented, according to an online tracker. [1] If nearly half of its agenda has already been enacted, then this indicates that we are witnessing the rapid consolidation of Christian conservative policies taking firm root at various places in the federal government. This is a trajectory that is bringing our government into alignment with the Heritage Foundation’s 900-page policy blueprint, which seeks to implement an ultra-conservative political agenda.
Project 2025 explicitly seeks to make the United States more Christian by embedding religious principles into government policy and governance, reflecting a vision of a nation rooted in conservative Evangelical doctrines. The document calls for the restoration of what it describes as the “Sabbath” that was “ordained” by “God.”
Project 2025 states on page 589 the following:
• “God ordained the Sabbath as a day of rest, and until very recently the Judeo-Christian tradition sought to honor that mandate by moral and legal regulation of work on that day. Moreover, a shared day off makes it possible for families and communities to enjoy time off together, rather than as atomized individuals, and provides a healthier cadence of life for everyone. Unfortunately, that communal day of rest has eroded under the pressures of consumerism and secularism, especially for low-income workers.” [2]
Donald Trump is pleasing Evangelicals and Catholics with the aggressive implementation of Project 2025. It’s only a matter of time before the United States bows to the power of the Church and imposes a Sunday law. Politicians do this to appease their political base. Donald Trump knows that he is the President because he relied on religious conservatives for votes and support, and by pushing policies that reflect the Church’s priorities, Trump will solidify his relationship with these groups, ensuring their loyalty and voter turnout.Additionally, Evangelical and Catholics have played a key role in shaping Project 2025, making its implementation a direct fulfillment of their long-term goals for reshaping America’s government into their image. Leaders from both religious traditions have played a key role in authoring and supporting the initiative, viewing it as an opportunity to roll back decades of secularization and embed Christian doctrines into federal policy. These groups see Project 2025 as the culmination of their long-standing efforts to reclaim America’s identity as a Christian nation.
Throughout history, Evangelicals and Catholics have found common ground on various social and political initiatives, and this collaboration has only strengthened in recent decades, culminating in joint efforts like Project 2025. However, according to prophecy, the next major initiative of this alliance will be the enforcement of Sunday rest by law.
“When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result” (Great Controversy, p. 445).
“The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance” (Great Controversy, p. 592).

ParticipantPost 947260 is another example of NOT verifying what they have been told.
There is NOTHING within this Project 2025 that mandates a “sabbath observance” or even hints at such; however, this is one believing what they are told because of the source (AdventMessenger.org). When one’s source for news comes from their religion’s bias what could go wrong?!?!
For proof you have been manipulated here is the entire section written in Project 2025:
Sabbath Rest. God ordained the Sabbath as a day of rest, and until very recently the Judeo-Christian tradition sought to honor that mandate by moral and legal regulation of work on that day. Moreover, a shared day off makes it possible for families and communities to enjoy time off together, rather than as atomized individuals, and provides a healthier cadence of life for everyone. Unfortunately, that communal day of rest has eroded under the pressures of consumerism and secularism, especially for low-income workers.
Congress should encourage communal rest by amending the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)9 to require that workers be paid time and a half for hours worked on the Sabbath. That day would default to Sunday, except for employers with a sincere religious observance of a Sabbath at a different time (e.g., Friday sundown to Saturday sundown); the obligation would transfer to that period instead. Houses of worship (to the limited extent they may have FLSA-covered employees) and employers legally required to operate around the clock (such as hospitals and first responders) would be exempt, as would workers otherwise exempt from overtime.
Alternative View. While some conservatives believe that the government should encourage certain religious observance by making it more expensive for employers and consumers to not partake in those observances, other conservatives believe that the government’s role is to protect the free exercise of religion by eliminating barriers as opposed to erecting them. Whereas imposing overtime rules on the Sabbath would lead to higher costs and limited access to goods and services and reduce work available on the Sabbath (while also incentivizing some people—through higher wages—to desire to work on the Sabbath), the proper role of government in helping to enable individuals to practice their religion is to reduce barriers to work options and to fruitful employer and employee relations. The result: ample job options that do not require work on the Sabbath so that individuals in roles that sometimes do require Sabbath work are empowered to negotiate directly with their employer to achieve their desired schedule.
Nowhere in this section does it mandate a sabbath observance. All this section says is to update the Fair Labor Standards Act to require worker to be paid time and a half for hours worked on the Sabbath; which takes an act of CONgress to modify, and NOT a presidential written wish list of hopeful accomplishments during his term in office.
All you had to do is verify what you were told and you would discover how your religion used their influence to manipulate. If your religion is willing to dupe (lie to) you with this none issue, what else are they lying to you about? I won’t get started on the “according to prophecy” comment from the article (Ellen White, a self proclaimed prophetess…really).
People can be so gullible…and this is what religion relies upon; verify everything!!!!

ParticipantPresident Kevin Roberts Calls on President Trump to “Unapologetically Champion Christianity” Using the “Numerous Tools of Statecraft”
On April 14, 2025, Kevin Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation, the organization responsible for Project 2025, co-authored an article titled “Now That Trump Is President, He Can Remind America That Christ Is King.” In it he calls on President Donald Trump to use all the available tools of the federal government to promote, establish, and defend the Christian faith. This conflicts with the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits the state from favoring any religion. Using the powers of the state to advance one specific religion undermines this fundamental protection, marginalizing religious minorities and threatening their rights and protections.
Kevin Roberts expressed the following in his article:
• “Over the next four years, President Donald Trump has the opportunity … [to] help return Christianity to its proper pride of place in our politics, both internationally and domestically; and pave the way for a national celebration of the 2000th anniversary of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in 2033.” [1]
• “It does require the president to unapologetically champion Christianity and use the numerous tools of statecraft and diplomacy that are at his disposal to support Christians.” [1]
• “With the 2,000th anniversary of Christ’s resurrection just eight years away, Trump can lead the charge by announcing plans for huge national celebrations in spring 2033. The Heritage Foundation and the Center for Baptist Leadership would be excited to work with him in making this possible.” [1]
• “None of this should be controversial. America is a Christian nation. We recognize Christian holidays, and we have a moral duty to defend Christian people and traditions.” [1]
The term “statecraft” used by Kevin Roberts comes from Daniel 2, where iron—symbolizing strong political power—and clay—symbolizing religious influence—are blended into a single kingdom. This is a prophetic warning against the union of church and state, two powers fundamentally incompatible in purpose and character.
“The mingling of churchcraft and statecraft is represented by the iron and the clay. This union is weakening all the power of the churches. This investing the church with the power of the state will bring evil results. Men have almost passed the point of God’s forbearance. They have invested their strength in politics, and have united with the papacy. But the time will come when God will punish those who have made void His law, and their evil work will recoil upon themselves” (Bible Commentary, Vol. 4, p. 1168).
The issue during the final crisis is a clear warning against giving the church civil authority. This very act corrupts both institutions. History bears this out—inquisitions, persecutions, and the suppression of conscience have followed such unions. It leads not to righteousness, but to oppression and spiritual corruption. Those who abandon God’s commandments for political power will face divine justice. Their own efforts to control and dominate will collapse and turn back against them. This is a sobering prophetic warning against compromising the principles of freedom and truth for political gain. We need churches to stand upon spiritual powers alone, and not embrace the coercive power of the state to advance its mission.
“Whenever the church has obtained secular power, she has employed it to punish dissent from her doctrines. Protestant churches that have followed in the steps of Rome by forming alliance with worldly powers, have manifested a similar desire to restrict liberty of conscience” (Great Controversy, p. 443).

ParticipantWHAT DOES THE NUMBER 666 STAND FOR?
Let us quote the only passage in the Bible that uses the term 666:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six (Revelation 13:17,18).The Bible describes 666 as the number of “the beast.” Several beasts are mentioned in Revelation 13: the beast, the dragon, and the lamblike beast. From context, the number 666 is associated with the first beast.
So who is this first beast? Excellent clues to its identity are scattered all through Revelation 13. Let’s list some of them:
1. It rose up out of the sea, or from out of a nation of people. (Compare verse 1 with Revelation 17:15.)
2. It had seven heads and ten crowned horns (verse 1).
3. It was a blasphemous beast (verses 1, 5, 6).
4. It did not possess power of itself. It was given its power by the dragon, or the devil. (Compare verse 2 with Revelation 12:9.)
5. One of its seven heads received a deadly wound that miraculously healed (verse 3).
6. It received world-wide spiritual adoration (verses 3, 4, 8.)
7. It persecuted God’s people for a time period of 42 prophetic months.
The Protestant reformers – men like Luther, Wycliffe, Calvin, Zwingli and Knox – studied this prophecy independently and came to the same conclusions. This beast described papal Rome.Do the clues fit?
In Bible prophecy, beasts represent kingdoms or nations (see Daniel 7:17). Throughout history, papal Rome functioned as a religio-political power with armies and a system of taxation. Today, Vatican City – headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church and home of the pope – is considered an independent nation which receives diplomats and ambassadors from many nations, including Australia and the U.S.The Bible predicted that papal Rome would rise out of a populous place. Historically, papal Rome arose out of well-populated pagan Rome. Three of the ten tribes of pagan Rome were destroyed by papal armies. Their territories were incorporated into the remaining seven tribes – leaving seven heads with ten crowned horns.
The Bible defines blasphemy as claiming the power and authority of God. The papacy grants priests the power to forgive sins and to release souls from purgatory. The pope claims divine authority to change and establish doctrine as he sees fit.
The prophecy describes the papacy receiving a deadly wound. In 1798, the pope was captured and exiled by Napoleon’s general, Berthier. The papacy was at an all time low in political power and many predicted its demise. But just as the Bible predicted, the deadly wound was healed. Over time, the papacy rebounded and is again considered a major global player.
During the Dark Ages, the pope was largely an unchallenged religious despot who deposed kings. Excommunicated whole nations, and persecuted heretics. The then known world was subject to his dominion and dogma for 42 prophetic months (31/2 prophetic years; 1260 prophetic days). This period corresponds with the 1260 years the papacy was in power: 538-1798. (A prophetic day=a literal year in Bible prophecy. See Numbers 14:34 and Ezekiel 4:6.)
One of the pope’s titles is Vicor of the Son of God, or in Latin, the official language of the Catholic Church, Vicarius Filii Dei. The letters of this title have the numerical value 666.
V I C A R I U S
5 1 100 0 0 1 5 0F I L I I
0 1 50 1 1D E I
500 0 1TOTAL: 666.
The Bible predicts that the papacy will once more seek to control the religious conscience of the world and will deny dissenters their civil rights. Giving Rome the authority to tell you what is truth instead of basing your understanding of truth on God’s Word will lead you to receive the mark or number of the beast.

ParticipantIDOLATRY IS RAMPANT THROUGHOUT CATHOLICISM! MANY CATHOLICS HAVE CONSECRATED THEMSELVES TO THEIR FABRICATED SOVEREIGN MARY INSTEAD OF GOD!
Mary was a sinner; for all have sinned, Mary, herself, would acknowledge her need for a Saviour; and the Bible says nothing of Mary or any other human since the Garden of Eden being sinless, except for Jesus Christ.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23.
Far from being equal with God, she herself called Him her God and Saviour. (A Saviour is needed in order to be saved from sin.)…And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. Luke 1:46-47.TWO FALSE DOGMAS CONTINUE TO MISLEAD THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH INTO HER ERRONEOUS CLAIM OF BEING THE ONLY CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST. THE CATHOLIC DOGMAS OF THE SINLESSNESS OF MARY AND THE INFALLIBILITY OF THE POPE REST UPON FICTION AND FRAUD.
When the Catholic Church clothes Mary with divine attributes it perverts Christianity into Marianism. The worship of a human woman is virtually substituted for the worship of Christ.
The teaching of the sinlessness of Mary is derived from the erroneous doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. It is taught that Mary was born different than you and I – In other words, Mary was sinless. Yet, the Bible states “ all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23. In addition, Mary herself admitted to her need of a Saviour. See Luke 1:47.
However, this erroneous doctrine of Mary’s sinlessness has gone from bad to worse. From the time that the Immaculate Conception was established as an official dogma of the Catholic Church in 1854, the Papacy has gone so far as blasphemously calling Mary a co-Redeemer or co-Mediatrix with Christ.
This continuous elevation of Mary before Catholics, Protestants, and non-Christian religions prepares the world to edify the pope and the Catholic system. With over 200 new apparitions of “Mary” every year, some giving messages of “her son’s soon return, “Satan is preparing for his grand deception in the personation of Christ.
Concerning papal infallibility, which supposedly exempts the Pope from error, we have a mortal, sinful man clothed with divine attributes. This turns Catholicism into papalism – not Christianity. This gross error turns the worshippers to the fallible man-god rather than to the sinless God-man, Jesus Christ.
While the worship of Mary is dangerously fraught with all the trappings of spiritualism, the erroneous claims of papal infallibility may be worse yet. Why? – The dogma of papal infallibility has to do with the question of absolute power and authority.
Here is a mere man challenging the will of God as expressed in the Ten Commandments. Here is a fallible man assuming the role of God on earth. Here is a man who will lead millions to hell in the end of time. Yet, he claims infallibility. Tragically, the vast majority of the world will be deceived through spiritualism to follow his lead in the end of time.April 21, 2025 at 10:32 am#947306DesireTruth
ParticipantSomeone has to say it as you continue to bash the Catholic faith week after week. You’re a Seventh Day Adventist, should we begin pointing out the falsehood and errors of your faith system? One could look at how your religious movement was born out of a failed “prophetic” prediction of the coming of the Jesus (not once, but twice); which resulted in “The Great Disappointment” as the Jesus never returned as predicted. You may not adhere to this false notion today, but it is part of your faiths foundations because if the “disappointment” didn’t happen the faith you call truth wouldn’t be here today. This false “prophecy” caused a collapse of the fledgling Millerites “religion” as people saw through the lies and left. However, out of the ashes of this failure, a self-proclaim “prophetess” (Ellen G. White) rose up bringing back to life the failed movement of William Miller resulting in the birth of the SDA religion.
White’s “The Great Controversy”, along with her other writings, have been elevated to the level of the Bible, like the “Book of Mormon” is for the Latter Day Saints and they’re said to be a false religion. One can deny this elevation; HOWEVER, during the 2015 General Conference Session in San Antonio, Texas the “delegates” “…reaffirm our conviction that her writings are divinely inspired, truly Christ-centered, and Bible-based. Rather than replacing the Bible, they uplift the normative character of Scripture and correct inaccurate interpretations of it derived from tradition, human reason, personal experience, and modern culture.” and “…commit ourselves to study the writings of Ellen G White prayerfully and with hearts willing to follow the counsels and instructions we find there.” So the followers of Adventism study, find counsel, and instruction in her writings…isn’t that what the Bible is suppose to do? It would seem the Bible is interpreted thru the lens of White. I didn’t realize the “infallible” word of G-d needed a supplementary guide.
What’s comical is White admitted that her writings were not even necessary: “If you had made God’s word your study, with a desire to reach the Bible standard and attain to Christian perfection, you would not have needed the Testimonies. It is because you have neglected to acquaint yourselves with God’s inspired Book that He has sought to reach you by simple, direct testimonies, calling your attention to the words of inspiration which you had neglected to obey, and urging you to fashion your lives in accordance with its pure and elevated teachings.” (source page 534) In other words the SDA doesn’t need her writings because all one needs to do is study G-d’s word with the same fervor as you apparently study her writings.
Moving on, looking at “Belief #8”, in this portion of the Adventist doctrine there is this gold nugget of distortion “Back in heaven, before the earth even existed, there was an angel named Lucifer. He was also called “Morning Star” because of his radiance and beauty (Isaiah 14:12).” You may want to actually read Isaiah 14:3-23, because in verse four it explicitly states it’s to the king of Babylon. Yet somehow the Adventist distorts G-d’s words and claim the “morning star” is Satan. Christian commentaries state this isn’t a reference to Satan but Nebuchadnezzar; however, one doesn’t need to look at commentaries for understanding of this passage, just a fifth grade reading and comprehension level.
I also like the arrogance of the Adventist, “The Seventh-day Adventist Church sees itself as the remnant Church of end-time Bible prophecy. Members of the Church, individually and collectively, understand their special role as ambassadors of God’s kingdom and messengers of the soon return of Jesus Christ. Seventh-day Adventists have enlisted as co-workers with God in His mission of reclaiming the world from the power and presence of evil, as part of the Great Controversy between Christ and Satan.” So Adventists are the only ones who have received a “special” commission/mission to “share” G-d’s message to the world?!?!?
It would be, while the Catholic faith many truth issues of their own, the Adventists also have some HUGE problems themselves and you should stop point fingers at other religions for their inaccuracies. Remember the speck and plank thing…fix your house first and stop worshiping an idol – Mrs. White.
What you should really do is be your moniker “Berean” and begin verifying and testing what you are told or believe is truth instead of smashing your “I Believe Button” like other religious lemmings.

ParticipantSo it’s okay for you to bash other faiths; but when it comes to yours, don’t critique it?!?!? Did the truth hit a nerve and open your eyes; did it cause you to stop and ponder the validity of your faith and become your moniker “Berean”; or will you continue to sweep the truth under the carpet, holding fast to a belief system and not G-d?
I only pointed out facts and provided supporting links for proof to my statements. I didn’t make anything up or twist anything. The point is to stop bashing and attacking other faiths because they don’t practice the same as you. Just because you “worship” on Saturday, doesn’t make you more special or more right. I agree the Catholic faith did and has done a lot of bad beginning in 325 AD, but stop pointing fingers. Have a little respect, because there isn’t a single faith that has it 100% correct.
Biblical “interpretation” or spreading false information (Project 2025) is a completely different matter.

You’re going to have to be a little more specific; an article on Catholicism, SDA, or something you wrote?
The “Official Statements – April 15, 1997” on “How Seventh-day Adventists View Roman Catholicism” says: “Seventh-day Adventists seek to take a positive approach to other faiths. Our primary task is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in the context of Christ’s soon return, not to point out flaws in other denominations.” You seem to have an extremely negative stance toward Catholics and are continually pointing out the flaws of the religion. How are you following this “official” statement?
Please explain Isa 14:12 and how it’s a reference to Satan. After reading “Belief #8” and Isa 14, Satan is nowhere to be found in this Isaiah chapter; yet your religion says it is.

A considerable portion of the Book of Revelation warns God’s servants against papal Rome, against the wine (doctrines) of the wrath of her fornication (illicit relations with the kings of the earth).
And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” (Revelation 14:8)

ParticipantHow do you know Revelation is speaking of “papal Rome”? Is this a teaching of your religion that you’ve come to believe as truth or do we have evidence that makes your belief truth?
When reading Revelation, chapters 1:1,3 and 22:10 present an major issue for the futurist’s interpretation of the book as the events spoken of in John’s vision “must take place soon” and the “time is near.” Both phrases express events that are fast approaching. The Jesus even says “I am coming soon.” How do you interpret this; christianity believes these events to happen in a distant future (currently at about 2000 years). Christianity has been waiting almost two millennia, can you explain how 2000 years is “soon” or “near”? If you take a vehicle in for repairs and the mechanic tells you the vehicle will be ready soon, are you expecting it to be ready in a month or within an hour or two? The expectations of John, after hearing these words, would have been a near future; not some distant event he would never see.
How do you explain this?
Will you explain Isa 14:12 and how it’s a reference to Satan?

ParticipantIt’s a little perplexing how people are unable to answer questions; nothing in your response tells me how or why you believe Revelation is speaking of “papal Rome”; Rome isn’t mentioned by name or even alluded to by John and telling me to read two books isn’t an answer to a question. Besides, I don’t have time to waste on reading almost 800 pages of someone’s opinion…give a brief summary. Then you say to “quench my thirst for truth” is laughable, how about I just read the scriptural text for the truth rather than someone’s interpretation of what they think it means. However, by telling me to read the books you admittedly say you believe something because someone else told you what to believe and it aligns with your obvious disdain of the Catholic faith.
Concerning the “URGENT” comment, what is so “urgent” about knowing what Daniel says or the meaning behind Revelation? The 70 week prophecy of Daniel was about the destruction of the Temple and has already happened. Since you believe the last week is a future event, please provide the passage where G-d paused this prophecy and pushed it off thousands of years into the future. Even the Jesus speaks of the destruction of the temple and during his discourse of the Temple destruction refers back to Daniel (Matt 24:15).
The book of Revelation speaks of events happening soon and not thousands of years into the future. So either the Jesus has already returned or he lied…gasps sucking the air out of the room. I’m going with the latter as he never fulfilled the prophecies spoken of the true Messiah, so he can’t be and isn’t the Messiah spoken of in the Tanakh.
Can you explain how Isa 14:12 is a reference to Satan or not? Your faith teaches it, so I would image you can explain it easily; and if you can’t…hmmmmm…why do you believe what you believe?

I never said I believed in this false doctrine initiated by the Jesuits and which has spread widely in Protestantism.
So how can you say such a thing without knowing?
So put your prejudices aside and go to chapter 9 of the book of Daniel, and you will be surprised to discover that the SDA does not believe in this Futurist heresy. For Isaiah 14:12
12] How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Who is Lucifer but the one who became the devil, Satan, because of his rebellion against God.
Would you deny the existence of Satan and his demons?

I have read chapter 9 and there is nothing concerning what the SDA believes. What do you believe of the 70 week prophecy told to Daniel?
What have you studied concerning Isa 14:12? Lucifer only means “the morning star” and appears only once in the entire Bible (the Isaiah passage sited) and only in the King Jimmy. To equate “Lucifer” to mean Satan is a christian interpretation. This passage MUST be read in context and is a reference to King Nebuchadnezzar and NOT the being you call Satan, which means “advisory.”
Do I believe “Satan and his demons” exist; NOT in the way you do. Since I don’t believe angels have a “freewill”, but are messengers of G-d and can only do what G-d has commanded them to do…good or evil. Who created evil…Isa 45:7; now ask your why. Don’t forget Job, Satan was only allowed to do what G-d allowed. Since Satan was only allowed to do what G-d can he go beyond that? Can he do whatever he wants or is he limited to what G-d allows?

ParticipantDaniel chapter 9 is discussed in Pastor Wieland’s book, Chapter 9.
Read and you will see.April 26, 2025 at 11:25 pm#947318DesireTruth
ParticipantLike I already said, I wasn’t wasting my time reading another’s opinion of what they believe it means; especially when you could give a condensed version of it by summarizing what he said. Don’t you explain your belief when “witnessing” to others or do you hand them a book and say, “read it for yourself.”
