God's ways are not our ways
Luke 16:15
And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.May 2, 2014 at 1:39 am#380266NickHassanParticipantHi,
Rom2
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) 16 in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.May 2, 2014 at 5:08 am#380284davidParticipantWe think of conscience as an inborn feeling of right and wrong.
But isn't this actually just belief that is taught (programmed) into us as children?
We feel strongly that canabalism is a no no.
But cannibals aren't born with a feeling that this is wrong. They are taught that it is good and normal. And so they actually feel bad or off or not normal. (Their conscience hurts them) when they don't eat other human flesh. This must be a taught belief thing.
Isn't it the same for everyone?
A Muslim or Buddhist or Christian all have been taught things as children. Those beliefs are comfortable. And much like comfort food those comfort beliefs feel good. When we expose ourself to actions that contradict that comfort food for the mind, we experience cognitive dissonance. (Our conscience troubles us). It's an uncomfortable mental feeling.
But are we born with it?

Quote But are we born with it? I think we are born with that tool ,but not with is continent ,this is put in it by our guardians ,if our guardian is a God fearing person you will be thought truth and try to please the God that as been made known to you ,but if they are of the world then you would be thought the errors of the world and also try to please that world

Yes.
Religious indoctrination can change that.
I would say any indoctrination or programming (and not just religious)Nick. If a person isn't indoctrinated by their parents with ideas of good and bad, then will that person still have the same feelings of conscience?
