Don't leave now Colter, it is a miracle,
    You lost your tiles.

Didn't you notice that you had been moved to the skeptics corner and were not allowed upstairs any longer?

    Hi Tim,

    Long time no see. :)

Thrown out of the temple courts yet again. May have to change my last name to Stu's last name “Banned” . I’ve seen Stu Banned so many times at TOL that I thought that was his last name.

I think what did it is when t8 revealed that there are two Gods, a Satan God Father and a God-God Father and obviously a Son, but that's not pantheism? I simply said that sounded like the quintessential American family.

Anyway, Christian Mysticism does get messy.

    Take care

    Hi Colter,

Don't know what TOL is but if stu got banned there he must have been making too much sense. I like stu.

You didn't get banned so you should stick around a while
and give your input down here on the other side of the tracks.
T8 spends as much time down here as he does in the “temple courts”. :D

    Have a great day!

There are many religions including your Atheist belief system Stu. Your quote is appropriate for yourself as you are an avid follower of Atheism and her prophets. And Darwin is your messiah. Did you notice that Atheism is an ISM too. Atheishism.

Seems no different to all other cults to me. They seem to have their own book in common to take you away from scripture and toward their invented view. e.g.,

Atheists -> The Origin Of The Species

They are all cults built around persons who are not Christ.

Is it any wonder no one takes you seriously any more, t8?

The Origin Of The Species,or better the survival of the species ,

in the case of men it would be the one that ad the best philosophical view and an impartial acting sword to survive ,brain work, :D

    It's nine times, actually.

    Just for the record.

But it's also poor form to discuss other forums on this forum.

    There you go again!

Definitely don't talk about other forums, whatever topic you do settle on. It's discourteous to those who aren't members of those other fora.

You could talk about the topic of the thread, maybe.

    Kerwin,

I sense that your definition of progressive is the one Rush would use in current sociopolitical usage in America. To me The term progressive was set by Jesus who established the bar at “love one another the way I have loved you”

The term “buzz word” itself has an element of anti-something to it.

My more contemporary terms should be easily translated by a disciple of Jesus without the legalistic quibbling.

“self conscious” would be the antithesis of Jesus' saying “let not the left hand know what the right hand is doing”…….which should flow right into “self forgetfulness.”

“service oriented” please see the sermon on the mount and then the rest of Jesus life of service to ones fellows.

Jesus disproved the erroneous doctrine of original sin or “chained to sin” as well as the Pagan doctrines of divine sacrifice.

    Colter

    Jesus words about avoiding temptation.

Self awareness = being aware of temptations
    Self forgetfulness = ignoring temptation.

The rest of what you wrote vague, irrelevant, point of view, or nonsense.

    Matthew 6
    New International Version (NIV)

    Giving to the Needy
6 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them.(A) If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

    Colter

    Colter,

    Kerwin,

We had been discussing the negative impact of institutionalized religion when we got tangled up in the weeds pop terminology, progressivism, Liberalism etc. The quote I provided from Matthew 6 was the actual context of doing good works without the need to tell everyone about it.

Anyhow much more can be gleaned from the UB on the subject.

    Here we go…

Tell us what the Urantia Book says about the formation of the solar system, and how that was the state of the science in 1905.

Tell us how old your book of plagiarism says the universe is. Would that be 13.7 billion years old, it's actual age, or does it say thousands of billions of years?

13.8 billion years old. You are reading an old text book.
