    Hi,
Not3 has brought us the existence of this church.
    From their site.

The Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith (COGAF) is a religious group that is closely linked with the Christadelphians. The group first came into existence in the 1860's, when fourteen “obedient ones,” as they termed themselves, established a congregation in Cleveland, Ohio. This initial body of believers came into existence under the leadership of Mark Allen, originally from Woburn, Massachusetts. Allen had previously spent some time in Geneva, Illinois working with Benjamin Wilson, who was baptized by Christadelphian founder John Thomas.
Wilson was the founder of the Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith Oregon Conference, which was based in Oregon, Illinois (Today this group is known as the Church of God General Conference and is based in Atlanta, Georgia). Allen's group, while having the same name and believing many of the same doctrines, evolved into a separate group and has no affiliation with the COGAF Oregon Conference. The COGAF congregation based in Cleveland, after much discussion and examination of the scriptures, decided not to embrace the doctrine of a literal devil, a universal resurrection, and decided to practice membership communion. The Oregon Conference did not crystalize their thinking on many issues, leaving them open to individual churches whereas Cleveland did.

By 1888 the same beliefs held by the Cleveland congregation were shared by two other churches. Today, there are eight churches that hold to the same fundamental teachings referred to previously. They are located in: Unionville, Salem, and Chesterland, Ohio; Gainesville, Miami and Flagler Beach, Florida; Perryville, Kentucky; and Roll, Indiana. Presently, members of this section of Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith number around four hundred.

Although the Christadelphians and COGAF community hold fast to many of the same doctrines, contact between the two groups has been limited until recently. Talks are currently being undertaken to discuss and resolve the small differences between this community of believers in the Faith of Abraham and the Christadelphian community.

The Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith, much like the Christadelphians, seeks to return to the basic principles and doctrines of the first century church. They perceive that Christianity has been changed dramatically since the death of the Apostles, and believe that the Bible is the only true source of inspired revelation. As a result, both COGAF and Christadelphians place a heavy emphasis on Bible study and understanding . They believe that only through a complete understanding of God and His purpose will one find the path to eternal salvation.

“Now this is eternal life, that they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3

    Their beliefs

There is one God, who is the Father and creator of all things. Deu. 6:4, 1Cor. 8:6

Christ is the annointed savior and only begotten Son of the Father. Eph. 4:5, Rom. 1:4

Christ became a sacrifice for sins. He first saved himself and will save his friends at his second coming. Heb. 2:14, Heb. 7:27

By believing in Christ, there is hope of resurrection from the dead to everlasting life on earth. 1 Thes.4:16, Dan. 12:2

Baptism into Jesus Christ brings the believer into this covenant of hope. Gal. 3:27-29, Rom. 6:4

Jesus is coming to this earth a second time. Heb. 9:28, Acts 1:11

When he comes, he will judge both his friends and his foes. John 5:28-30, Acts 17:31

Jesus will then reign over all nations. Isa. 9:6-7, Luke 1:32-33

He will restore Israel to be the first of the nations. Zech. 8:23, Rom. 11:26

Jesus calls you to obedience and love of one another. Gal. 5:13-14, 1 Pet. 2:21

I guess like the Cs they do not believe in Satan?

The 'delphs believe in an adversary that is within each one of us. The old saying, “The devil made me do it.” could be translated, “The evil within me made me do it.”

I have two very good friends who are Christadelphians, and I've studied with the Church of God – they were the closest group I could find that lined up with what I had been convinced of at the time.

What do you personally think of thier belief system, Nick?

To throw a monkey wrench in, Zarathustra did not speak of a satan, but the ability of all to either choose good or bad. That is similar to what the Christadelphians believe, in that aspect.

    Hi not3,
There is one God, who is the Father and creator of all things. Deu. 6:4, 1Cor. 8:6 Y

Christ is the annointed savior and only begotten Son of the Father. Eph. 4:5, Rom. 1:4 Y

Christ became a sacrifice for sins. He first saved himself and will save his friends at his second coming. Heb. 2:14, Heb. 7:27

    HMMM
    God saved him
Those reborn into him are saved now.

By believing in Christ, there is hope of resurrection from the dead to everlasting life on earth. 1 Thes.4:16, Dan. 12:2

    HMMM
You must be born again of course-obedient belief.

Baptism into Jesus Christ brings the believer into this covenant of hope. Gal. 3:27-29, Rom. 6:4

    HMMM
Repentance before baptism-otherwise it is 'magic' as with baptising babies.

Jesus is coming to this earth a second time. Heb. 9:28, Acts 1:11 Y

When he comes, he will judge both his friends and his foes. John 5:28-30, Acts 17:31

    HMMM
His disciples will face his tribunal of blessing -the talents
Yes eventually he will judge the nations after reigning on earth for 1000 years and restoring creation.

Jesus will then reign over all nations. Isa. 9:6-7, Luke 1:32-33

    HMMM
    Wrong way around.

He will restore Israel to be the first of the nations. Zech. 8:23, Rom. 11:26

He will reign from Jerusalem but will it make them greater?

Jesus calls you to obedience and love of one another. Gal. 5:13-14, 1 Pet. 2:21 Y and to be kindly to all.

Somehow the Holy Spirit of God does not get a mention and since it is the Spirit that gives us eternal life sadly they may miss this blessing and the gifts and graces too. No mention of Satan either.

    Shallow religion

    Nick,

You seem to be quick to judge every denomination out there. I guess the one you call your own is the best?

    Hi kj,
    Is Christ divided?
Addressing the points raised would be more helpful.

    Nick and Kejonn;

Both of you have the important truths correct, Jesus is the Son of God and salvation can only be had through him. Regardless of your differences, you stand on the same foundation, which is Christ.

The apostles were also prone to disagree and to be divided. They argued who would be the greatest, they were upset with James and John when Jesus said they would drink of his cup and baptism.

Peter was also concerned about what the fate of John would be. Jesus basically says to mind his own business.

Paul had a great dissension with Barnabas and they were their separate ways. Sometimes when we disagree it causes us to branch out and to include others that God wants to add to the kingdom and the work of the kingdom.

My father use to say, if we both agree on everything than one of us might be unnecessary.

    Hi Steve,
We must be Berean as there are many deceiving denominational spirits.
Is is better to not know Christ than to be in the whore.

    Nick;

There's an incredible truth there. It does seem harder to share the gospel with those that are under religous deception than those who have no faith in God.

All hail to The Father and the Son, from whom all blessings flow.

Yahweh has brought me to a powerful understanding- to realize that there is nothing new under the sun? [Ecclesiates, James]
For many generations humans have been spreading the religious denominations like it is a new thing? As I seek to know The Almighty Father it becomes an open and soaring spirit, in me that He sends to dig into Him and His Word- 'Yahushua', and All His righteousness that I see the answers coming.

For in 1st John it is written that one should 'Try the spirits and see IF they be of Yahweh.'
Also, in 2 Corinthians: it is written, ' the devil is working as an angel of light.'
This has awakened my spirit and I am sharing that not one jot or tittle will pass from the Word, til He comes. For one must search the Scriptures, that ye may Know that ye have eternal life.

The [Holy Spirit] called by name 'Ruach haKodesh' is the One who tells us all things, inside our souls as one seeks to know Him in Heaven.
May Yahweh bless all, as He promised from the beginning, those who bless Abraham, them will He bless, also.
AlleluYah, till He comes I will sing of His Esteem!

For in the end of this earth, the final say is going to be His Way!

    Hi,

Scripture can be used to support anyone’s ideas.

    It is very malleable.
