HOW CAN WE GET MORE PEOPLE INTERESTED IN CHURCH
June 29, 2009 at 8:16 pm#135279Christian BikerParticipantGood question! The best I can figure is that here many seek to find fault with all churches to justify not attending. Maybe if we put in ashtrays and sell wine they would be interested.
June 29, 2009 at 8:37 pm#135282NickHassanParticipantHi CB,
Did Jesus start all these competing denominations?
If he did not is it not better to avoid them?June 29, 2009 at 10:09 pm#135301Christian BikerParticipantLuke 6: 46
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?June 29, 2009 at 10:22 pm#135304942767ParticipantQuote (Jesus name follower of Christ @ June 30 2009,03:57) HOW CAN WE GET MORE PEOPLE INTERESTED IN CHURCH
The best way is to live your life as an example so that people may see that God is a reality through the life that you live, and thereby, want to be reconciled to Him.Love in Christ,

Welcome to all our new members!!Amen to this post! However, comma, it is one of the most difficult jobs to perform. It's easy to say – it flows off the lips like, well, I don't know, but it's easy to say!
More difficult to love a brother or sister who is being snotty or hateful. Showing love during those times….that's the love our dear Lord wants us to possess.
Loving someone who is displaying willfull sin (or what we deem is “sin”) is also the challenge of the Christian who wants to love all. In my opinion, this separates the true Christian from those who are just wanting the benefits without the work.

MandyJuly 3, 2009 at 5:07 pm#135908Not3in1ParticipantI also wanted to add that I've been out of the church now for more than a decade….. I was in ministry for many years before that. A book that I recommend to those who are struggling with leaving church (but still love the Lord Jesus, and his God – the Father) is: Leaving Church by Barbara Brown. Good read.
Going to church is awesome. I loved it. When I started studying the bible though, no pastor had the answers to my questions. This really got me to wondering about a lot of dogma.
There's a saying: The church has all the answers…..but they also give you the “right” questions to ask.
If you're trying to get folks to come to your church, just make it sound fabulous (if it is). Get involved with all the activities. In my opinion (and it's not a popular one, I realize), you can find God in nearly any church. Goodness, He's everywhere. Just this morning I found Him in my bathroom!
Much love, and no disrespect meant.

Oh, because they have to have special glasses! What I meant to say is, they have to be led by the Spirit. No one can see God except the One that came from God (Jesus). I suppose that maybe on that Day, we may be able to “sense” Him, or something….who knows…..it's a wait-and-see surprise! Some believe that the scriptures that says, “We shall see him as he is…” ref's God the Father, but I think it means Jesus. Maybe someone more qualified can speak to that?
I love surprises!!!

That is a good question, however if you have God's Holy Spirit in your Heart, you can feel Him. We are the Temple of God. So does that not mean that God and the Son lives with us. All we have to do is reach out for Him, and do not Sin willingly. Jesus is our Mediator and if we go to the Father through Him, He will forgive your sins, in a twinkle of the eye.
How could you even ask such a question I thought that all know that the Father and the Son are Spirit beings. Who keeps everything going? Is it not God? IMO yes!

Who is not nice?July 6, 2009 at 10:14 am#136271Tim KraftParticipantIt is true that the father and son dwell within us and rule through us as we allow. This is New Testament Truth for all! Then why do we talk about Jesus coming back some day. He came back when you received and accepted him. The world thinks Christians are so fickle because we talk out to sides of our mouths. We say we are forgiven in one breath and then say we sin all the time! We say that all should accept Jesus into their heart and mind and then tell them some day he will come back. We say, you come to God by faith, believing the Truth yet we turn around and say sin is through works or bad deeds. There are many more but if we could stop contradicting ourselves it might look better to those inquiring. With Love, TK

So all men are already born of the Spirit and do not need to obey the command?
Man is in control in your view?July 6, 2009 at 10:37 am#136274CindyParticipantQuote (Tim Kraft @ July 06 2009,22:14) It is true that the father and son dwell within us and rule through us as we allow. When Jesus comes again, all will see Him. He will be able to transform Himself into anything He wants, in order for us to see Him. The Bible really doesn't talk about what form He will be… But IMO He will have to be in a Human form in order for all to see Him. I don't consider myself fickle. That is nonsense talking. What are you talking about what sin is. Are you not just a little silly!!!
As a Christian we don't sin willfully, and if we do, and we do, we have a Mediator to go to the Throne of God and ask for forgiveness of that sin.
When He comes back, only the Truth will be taught. No more guessing, who is right or wrong. That are some reasons why I hope He comes soon.
