Greetings
Recently, I was watching a documentary on the discovery & excavation of David's palace…and something dawned on me.
Something I don't think very many people realise nor think about, just like i didn't realise nor gave much thought to until it dawned on me.Anyway, after a reply I got to these scriptures below, it affirmed what I suspected would be a very common instinctive reaction to this very subject…a reaction that, because of the assumption, would cause one to see a certain prophecy in the wrong light all together, thus leading them into believing of a choice of various conflicting doctrines, opposed to what some of us wholeheartedly consider the only & true interpretation.
But before i go on, here are two of the scriptures in question first:
Amos 9:11 >In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof, and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old.
Acts 15:16 >After this, I WILL RETURN, and will BUILD AGAIN the tabernacle of David, which is FALLEN DOWN, and I will BUILD AGAIN the RUINS thereof, and I will SET IT UP.
Now remember, the subject was about Christ's earthly throne in Jerusalem during the millennial reign.
Now here is what I was alluding to at the start of this post….the reply to this scripture was this (remembering that this is about Christs earthly throne of David being restored), here was the gist of the reply:
“But Christ is now the temple!!
Notice the instinctive assumption between Christs THRONE and the Holy Temple(s)?
Just mention Davids THRONE being RESTORED for Christ to SIT on and the instinctive reaction of probably most christians is to immediately link Davids throne with the Holy Temple(s)!!
But here's the thing….
David's throne that Christ will sit on during the millennium was NEVER EVER situated in the Holy Temple!!
Kings did not sit in the Holy temple…
The Holy Temple was for PRIESTS!!
Not for thrones!!Again: the throne of David and THAT house/palace which housed the king and his throne which is to be rebuilt by God…is just even more evidence to back what some of us on here are saying concerning the millennium and Christs reign.
Lets now look at these scriptures again with this undeniable truth in mind…
First, the verses again:
Amos 9:11 >In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof, and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old.
Acts 15:16 >After this, I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down, and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up.[/b][/color]
Some points:
RUINS?
Did Christ leave behind any ruins?
Well, Christ doesn't have RUINS, Christ has TEACHINGS & LIVING TEMPLES, so those teachings can not be identified with ruins, for Christ's spoken word is ALIVE and as mentioned, is being used even now by Christ in the building of His LIVING TEMPLE!
And like God His Father, Christ is a God of the living, not the dead (ruinous)!
And as mentioned, THAT temple which Christ is building has absolutely nothing to do with THRONES!
So “his ruins” that are going to be raised up, must then literally mean what God is saying, THOSE LITERAL ruins of DAVID'S!
The RUINS of DAVID'S PALACE where the THRONE was.
NOT speaking of the Holy Temple(s) at all!“I WILL RETURN”
Return?
Christ is returning?
I think that speaks for itself.“BUILD IT AS IN THE DAYS OF OLD”
Simply, those RUINS are going to be built exactly as they were originally built!!Without making this a saga, that house of David recently discovered & excavated & in ruins, Christ promises to rebuild WHEN He RETURNS!!
And as mentioned, this PALACE was where the THRONE was!!
Where the KING ruled from!!
And Christ is going to REBUILD IT!!
Q:Why?
A:Why else? But to OCCUPY!! To rule from!!God says it better:
Jeremiah 33:17 >For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
Matthew 5:34 >But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
1 Kings 1:46 >And also Solomon sitteth on the throne of the kingdom.
1 Chronicles 28:5. >And of all my sons, (for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.
Matthew 25:31>When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
Acts 15:16 >After this, I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down, and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up.
Isaiah 9:7 >Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Isaiah 16:5 >And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
Luke 22:30 >That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Matthew 13:41 >The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Notice the DESCRIPTION of that THRONE that Solomon etc SAT ON….The THRONE of the KINGDOM OF THE LORD….
THE KINGDOM OF THE LORD!!
WHERE DAVID & SOLOMON SAT!!
That PALACE!!
That WHEN He RETURNS, HE will REBUILD & SET UP THAT THRONE that USED TO sit in THAT PALACE that is IN RUINS where DAVID & SOLOMON ALSO SAT called THE THRONE OF THE KINGDOM OF THE LORD!!…that is today STILL in RUINS!!Thoughts?
