I dont know.
July 14, 2010 at 4:09 am#203677GeneBalthropParticipantTo AlL……..Begotten is the act of begetting like when a Father begets a SON, that took place at impregnation, and the son was not born then it was 9 months later when he was born. What is so hard about understanding that. Birth means coming into full existence as a Being.
Beget= Start point
Birth== Finish point
We are begotten of GOD and then Born with a new body at the resurrection. IMO

genehow is the man knows that he will begets a son only 9 months latter it could be a daughter,so men still do not know anything.
wen Adam was made he was adult
wen Christ was begotten he also was create mature.wen the true believers will become sons of God they will all be adults.
you say; What is so hard about understanding that. Birth means coming into full existence as a Being
I believe;in the spirit it is not so ,your birth is the beginning and your dead in the flesh is the end, and only your deeds and good fruits you produce with the help of God s word and spirit will make you good to be useful to God our maker.
if not you will be disposed of.

Is there a reasin for this?
Or else I will form my own view….and you wouldn't like me if I did that…!
Hi JA.I think this is a vaild question and worthy of its own topic. So I started up a topic here:
Greetings,After reading many of the responses I have to ask the question…what is the purpose behind defining the two?
It's like looking up the word “run” in a dictionary. You'll find over 100 uses of the word. A foreigner wouldn't understand the many usages or applications given but each is correct.
You need to have a reason behind the exercise.
I got fooled looking up the many scriptures behind begotten and the responses varied along with the Hebrew word attached to each sentence containing “begotten”. Then it occurred to me someone was creating a thread to watch a dog chase its tail.
To determine the correct interpretation one must understand the context of what is written, and then decide which application to use…but with nothing written it is again like looking up the word run in a dictionary and ask which of the 179 sentences is correct.

July 14, 2010 at 4:57 am#203685karmarieParticipantHi David.
Begotten doesnt always mean born,
Ideas are born, nations are born, children are born, many things are born not nessesarily the same (way).
As is begotten. More than one meaning.
Maybe, Before the creation of the world, How could Jesus be 'born' as we are born.. .. God is Spirit, God doesnt have the body we have, Jesus was as God.. Spirit, which is why he had to be born into a body on earth. So Jesus was never 'born' before time, he was 'begotten' ..chosen, how he came to be we dont know. (God said 'let there be' and there was) Genesis
July 14, 2010 at 8:24 am#203708OxyParticipantIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was born of Mary, begotten of the Father and was called Jesus.

Terrircca……….The point is not if it is a man or women, it is the fact they were begotten at conception, thats the point, not if they are male or female. When we recieve the Holy Spirit of GOD we recieve His seed into Us and that is when we have been begotten of GOD. Those who are begotten of GOD have the Power to keep themselves John said, because His Seed (God's) abides (IN) them. When we are resurrected with new bodies we will then be born into the family of God. We all are waiting for that righteousness to come and in the mean time we struggle with these Carnal bodies that has sin in them. As Paul said we do. “FOR IT IS NO LONGER I WHO SIN , BUT SIN THAT DWELLS IN THIS BODY OF MINE” remember.peace and love to you and yours……………………….gene

July 14, 2010 at 4:50 pm#203819GeneBalthropParticipantTerriccsa…………I remember exactly when the Holy Spirit came into me. after the Elders Prayed with their hand on my head. after i was baptized with water, then i was baptized with the Holy Spirit. I remember it well, and have have many miracles in my life to prove it also. The question here is why do you not remember when you recieved the Spirit if you really have . Sorry We are not to enter into doubtful disputations so i am not saying you do not have God's Spirit that is between you and GOD not me brother. I just quest why you don't remember the experience that is all brother.

July 14, 2010 at 5:03 pm#203820JustAskinParticipantGene,
You have the Holy Spirit?
Mighty Gods! It doesn't show?
Does the Holy Spirit mislead with unscriptural doctrine?
What, then, does the Holy Spirit direct you to do? Spend all day in a decrepit forum spewing distortions concerning its owner and its holder.
What does the Holy Spirit in you reveak concerning JustAskin.
And Gene, remember that the Holy Spirit does not LIE nor Deceive!
July 14, 2010 at 6:04 pm#203831GeneBalthropParticipantJA……..You may not want to hear what the Holy Spirit has to say concerning YOU. I am Not your Judge and You are not my or anyone else's Judge here either. But i will say you are indeed an ACCUSER OF THE BROTHERN HERE, That is obvious to ALL Here. So i will let you put that together for yourself, seeing you (THINK) you have so much understanding, go figure that out for yourself.

July 15, 2010 at 6:31 am#203941OxyParticipantMy, the love grows.. lol. I was born again on the 5th May 1978 and received the Holy Spirit probably about 5 weeks later. I remember it well. I had spent an hour worshipping the Lord and felt His presence in such a wonderful way. I was walking into town, still singing and praising God and then I opened my mouth but had nothing in mind to say and I started speaking in tongues. My excitement was just about more than I could contain. It was only a couple of weeks earlier He taught me about the gifts of the Spirit in the Scriptures. Since receiving the Holy Spirit I have prophesied, had word of knowledge, seen the sick healed and have done miracles by His power.
July 15, 2010 at 6:40 am#203945JustAskinParticipantGene,
Is that from the Holy Spirit?
I think not.
I asked what the Holy Spirit says to you. By this I take it you cannot answer… Well that speaks VOLUMES…

Why did you stop learning then?

Who said I stopped learning? And who are you to accuse me of false teaching? Nick, that is a serious accusation and I am not appreciative of you saying that, especially when I see so many holes in what you teach.July 15, 2010 at 10:21 am#204014NickHassanParticipantHi Oxy,
You misunderstand again?July 15, 2010 at 1:53 pm#204031karmarieParticipantOh my gosh, I apologise for my involvement in this thread, I spoke without knowing what I was talking about!
I have no idea what born and begotten in biblical terms mean, its not exactly something id usually think about.
Good luck with it!
