I went for Signs of the End Times, which included this insight:

So prophecy believers are very careful readers of the newspapers. They're very careful observers of current events. And they view those events through a particular prism of biblical interpretation that they are convinced tells us the true meaning of these unfolding events. …

The article then goes on to describe how these prophecy believers have switched left and right from one contemporary event to the next as the key sign of the End.

For one who promised to come quickly, the messianic cavalry is late. We are all still here and the sun still rises in the morning and the birds still sing. What a load of drug-fuelled hot air is the last book of the Judeo-christian mythology.
