Yeah it was pretty rough last night, although our new place doesn't seem to shake as much as the last one. I think it is less windy here.
I heard that the ferry took 9 hours to cross from the South Island. It had to battle a 9 metre swell and docked in a sound for shelter.

Today is beautiful however and tomorrow should be more of the same.

When I was a younger fella, I drove a taxi for a while. The number was 8. My friends use to ring up and request me by asking for T8 (taxi 8). The name kinda stuck.

On the News it said that southern Australia was in the worst drought for a 1000 years. I wonder if it is really 1 in a 1000 or global warming? We will see.
We have had a whole week of rain here. The worst Spring I can remember.

February 12, 2007 at 8:21 am#40122davidParticipantRemember those lovely pictures of New Zealand a few pages back.
This is the city I live in, almost a month ago.
I believe one person died. On the way to work the next day, I literally passed 20 cars stranded in ditches. Enjoy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYs7AP8UPicI believe it was -36 C that day including the wind. The temperature itself wasn't actually that bad. Two or three times a year, it gets down to -40 C WITHOUT THE WIND. If the wind is blowing on that day, your skin will freeze in a few minutes.

Wind really dose increase the storm and fire
Lots to be thankful for only one person losing their life
The thought of a soul
freezing alive like as an iceberg is very uncomfortable. We sometimes don't understand when we have not experienced the fear of such harsh conditions for others
February 12, 2007 at 1:57 pm#40142seekingtruthParticipantStaying warm David? Disney looking better all the time.
We've been a balmy -7F here and getting snow everyday. For a while the weather stayed warm I even went for a motorcycle ride just before the new year. The nice part about winter though is how much more you appreciate spring when it finally does come.

Seekintruth you have a motorcycle? ME TOO! In fact I'm going to take her out today it's supposed to get up to 70 today. Ha HaFebruary 12, 2007 at 11:54 pm#40187seekingtruthParticipantKen,
It actually got up near freezing today but I think I'll wait a while longer to take a ride (all that ice and snow is now slop). I've been riding motorcycles since I was 15. They're a great way to spend time alone with God admiring His handywork. What kinda bike do you have? I've had Benelli, Bultaco, Kawasakis, Yamahas, Hondas, but I bought a Harley last summer (used), I always wanted one, I was impressed they're a lot nicer then I would have thought (I always liked the sound). I can't stand to ride my Honda anymore.
Hope you had a great ride and thought of me driving through this white stuff
