    Pay heed, you distant peoples
Isaiah 49:1-13 Listen to Me, you coasts and islands, pay heed, you peoples far distant. The Lord called and named me [Isaiah = the Lord has saved] before I was born. He made me His spokesman. My reward is to be with God.
The Lord said: Israel are My servants, through whom I shall win glory. My task for you is to bring back Jacob to the Lord, so that Israel will be gathered again to God. Is it not too simple a task for you, to restore the 12 tribes of Jacob and bring back the survivors of Israel? They will be a light to the nations, so that My salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.
The Redeemer and Holy One of Israel says: You were once despised and in subjection, but the Lord has chosen you and kings will honour you. In the time of My favour, I will answer you and will help you on the Day of Deliverance. I have formed you and destined you to be a light for the peoples, restoring the Land and living once more in its desolate places.
I say to the captives: go free – to those in darkness: [exile] come out. Everywhere there will be pasture, water in plenty. It will not be too hot, for the One who loves them will guide them along highways and level paths. They are coming – some from far away, the North, West and the lands of the South. Shout for joy, you heavens, earth rejoice, burst into song you mountains. For the Lord has comforted His people and has compassion on them in their distress.
Isaiah 49:14-23 The Lord says: I shall never forget My Land or My people, they are always before Me. I did indeed raze the Land and destroy your oppressors, but now all Israel is flocking back to their heritage, brought back by the nations in honour and reverence. You will know that I, your God has done this and none who trust in Me will be disappointed. Reference: REB, NIV, KJV. Verses abridged.

‘His spokesman’, Isaiah reveals what is to be, the secret of things to come. He prophesies the ‘restoration the 12 tribes of Jacob and the return of the survivors; His servants, through whom He will win glory’. The survivors are those who the Lord has protected during His fire judgement of the nations. The great and terrible Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath ‘will raze all the holy Land and destroy the oppressors’. Psalm 83, Rev. 6:12-17
Almost all of the Book of Isaiah, relates to the restoration of the Israelites to the Promised Land. The Lord’s people are destined to be a ‘light to the nations’ and spread the gospel around the world. The Lord will answer their prayers for help on the Day of Deliverance. Isa 30:26, Isa 63:4, Zechariah 9:14-17. “pay heed you peoples far distant’ the Israelites, all of His righteous people, still scattered around the world. Some of Judah have returned to a part of the Land. All righteous Israelites will ‘come from far distant places, from all directions’, and settle in the new country of Beulah. Isaiah 62:1-5 ‘ALL who trust in the Lord will not be disappointed’. Israelites include all who trust God and ‘call out to Him’. Joel 2:32, Revelation 7:14
‘It will not be too hot’ and they will be guided and their needs provided for. Psalm 107 They will ‘restore the Land and buildings’, and live there in safety and prosperity, Hosea 2:14-23, Ezekiel 36:8-12, ‘so that My salvation may reach the ends of the earth’. This will be achieved by the 144,000 – 12,000 selected from each tribe, who will go out in pairs to preach the Gospel of the coming Kingdom of Jesus. ‘Israel, you are My servants, through whom I shall win glory.’ Revelation 14:1-7, Isaiah 66:19
No mention is made of the Millennium reign of Jesus and ‘ you will know that I your God has done this’, proves that Jesus is not physically present as yet, therefore this restoration of Israel is before that event. All this is in order for His people: righteous Israel, to fulfil their destiny, to fulfil the promises made to the Patriarchs, and to prepare for the Return of Jesus. It is them who say “Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord”, at the Return.

That's good that you give all those scriptures, but can you please interpret, because you said in the first scripture it was Isaiah speaking, and i don't think it will be Isaiah that will raise up the 12 tribes of Israel.
I have given the KJV here for more clarity.

Isaiah 49:1   Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

     Isaiah 49:2   And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;

Isaiah 49:3   And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

Isaiah 49:4   Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.

Isaiah 49:5   And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.

Isaiah 49:6   And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Isaiah 49:7   Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.

     Isaiah 49:8   Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

Isaiah 49:9   That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.

Isaiah 49:10   They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.

Isaiah 49:11   And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.

Isaiah 49:12   Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

Isaiah 49:13   Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

Isaiah 49:14   But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.

Isaiah 49:15   Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Isaiah 49:16   Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Isaiah 49:17   Thy children shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.

Isaiah 49:18   Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.

Isaiah 49:19   For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.

Isaiah 49:20   The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell.

Isaiah 49:21   Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?

Isaiah 49:22   Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.

Isaiah 49:23   And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.

Isaiah 49:24   Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?

Isaiah 49:25   But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

Isaiah 49:26   And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

    Hi,
Isaiah 49:5 And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.

Isaiah 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

    Matt 24

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

    rev 14

14 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 and they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

    Rev 11
11 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

J42, You will note that I do refer to the KJV when I wrote articles, mostly because people like you use it.
All the trans. say that Isaiah will bring back the tribes of Jacob, but I consider this means he will prophesy and proclaim their return to the holy Land.
Nick, I do not see the many millions of Judah and Israel as the two candlesticks in Rev 11:4. They are described as two individuals, quite possibly Moses and Elijah.

Why I post these Bible passages, is for all to understand the truth of what will happen in the near future. First comes the terrible Day of the Lord's wrath, that will depopulate all the holy Land. This allows the Lord's righteous people to gather and live there. Then follows all that must happen until the Return of Jesus- about 16 years later.

    Hi Keras,
No quite described as two men.
Which two particular men are unique as olive trees and lampstands?

    Would Moses die twice?
“It is appointed to man once to die and then the judgement”
    millions? no 144000

Actually I view discussions on 'who are the two candlesticks', or 'will Isaiah personally bring back the Israelites' as unprofitable [Titus 3:9] and I see you both as just avoiding the main message of the prophesies I quote.

I say, The dreadful and terrible day of the Lord is the actual day Christ returns.  This is when he completely destroys the system of Babylon.  Until then Babylon is still operating, for her armies gather to make war with the Lamb, and it all takes place in Armageddon, (ISRAEL) this same land you claim that Israel are living in peace?
    It doesn't compute.

The scriptures say that Jesus only returns once,
    but you say twice?

    I asked you to interpret Isaiah chapter 49, because in your very first opening you said this;

    Quote
Isaiah 49:1-13 Listen to Me, you coasts and islands, pay heed, you peoples far distant. The Lord called and named me [Isaiah = the Lord has saved] before I was born. He made me His spokesman. My reward is to be with God.

So in your opening, alarm bells start ringing for me.  For Isaiah did not come preaching himself….which is why I asked you to interpret the whole chapter, because you misinterpreted the very first verse…. right from the start.  Don't take offence. We have to test everything. It does not change the fact that Israel is being brought back, I know, but it shows that you need sharpening, if you are to pen this in books, because you are clearly stating that Isaiah was the one coming out of the womb.  If you have made a mistake, I can accept that, but don't cover up your error, and dismiss it as nothing, because we are handling the very Word of God here, not something light to brush aside.
    Would yo agree?

You hold to a common, but wrong theory – only one Day of the Lord. But there have been Days of the Lord in the past and will be more than one in the future.
The great and terrible Day of the Lord's vengeance and wrath, described over 100 times throughout the Bible, must be a separate Day from the Return – the great Day of the Sovereign Lord. Rev 16:14
To make your theory work, you must shift the Sixth Seal from its correct sequence, a grave error.
Be aware that on the Day of wrath, the Lord is NOT seen, He just instigates this sunstrike. Psalm 18:11, Hab. 3:4

4.The setting up of the kingdom,in jerusalem.
The jews will build their houses, and plant their vineyards.
They will be taught by the saints. The saints will be their
kings and priests;and Jesus the king of kings.

    The kingdoms of: (Daniel 2).
The gold;silver;brass;iron;clay will be destroyed first;(bab.), then the kingdom set up in jerusalem.

The gentiles outside will also be converted by the jews.
They will come in to learn.Knowledge will cover the earth as the sea cover the earth.

J42, you have made me think about exactly who is the subject of Isaiah 49. I had not considered that it may be Jesus.
Careful reading now makes me think it is a dual prophecy, Isaiah does the prophecy and Jesus carries it out.
I am sure it is righteous Israel who is 'appointed to be a light to the nations', Isaiah 44:1-2, Isaiah 60:1-3, Ezekiel 39:27

Wakeup, your end times beliefs remain as confused as ever. Nowhere does the Bible say there will be a conventional or a nuke war. Isn't it clear enough that Armageddon is not the same as the attack described in Psalm 83? And to say the Gog/Magog attack is only at the end of the Millennium, is just spurious and ignores scripture. Does the clean up extend into the 'new heaven and the new earth?

Isaiah 13:1 The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.

Isaiah 13:2 Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.

Isaiah 13:3 I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.

Isaiah 13:4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.

Isaiah 13:5 They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

Isaiah 13:6 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

Isaiah 13:7 Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:

Isaiah 13:8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.

Isaiah 13:9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

Isaiah 13:10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

Isaiah 13:11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

Isaiah 13:12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

Isaiah 13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Isaiah 13:14 And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.

Isaiah 13:15 Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.

Isaiah 13:16 Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.

Isaiah 13:17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.

Isaiah 13:18 Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.

Isaiah 13:19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

Isaiah 13:20 It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.

Isaiah 13:21 But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.

Isaiah 13:22 And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

PS. The 3rd ww is a war of man against man.
The west against Iran and allies.(rev.9:15—21).

Armageddon is a war of man against the Lamb.
    (rev.16:16–21).
Both armies will come together to make war with the Lamb.

This war will take one day. Babylon will be no more in one day.(rev 18).

    Then the kingdom set up.
