Quote (heiscomingintheclouds @ July 21 2006,15:48) We must be reborn in the spirit to enter into the kingdom of God. This is done by believing in Jesus with all of your heart. 37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Acts 14:9 this one was hearing Paul speaking, who, having stedfastly beheld him, and having seen that he hath faith to be saved,
Hi H,
Was this not the eunuch you speak of here who said just before
“look! Water!.What prevents me from being baptised?”and
Acts 14.9[NASB]
“..and had seen that he had faith to be MADE WELL, said with a loud voice
' Stand upright on your feet..'”Being made well is being saved on a physical plane, saved from sickness and infirmity, but that is not eternal salvation. Faith for salvation seems inappropriate for a man wanting to be made well. Once again the older KJV words used lead to confusion.
July 22, 2006 at 3:40 pm#22623He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantAccording to the doctrine of Nick. Again on the attack.
July 22, 2006 at 3:41 pm#22624He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantAnd wrong as usual.
July 22, 2006 at 4:04 pm#22626He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantWe are saved by grace. It is the free gift from God. It comes by believing in his Son with all of your heart Nick. When a man asks for forgiveness of sin, Jesus comes into the heart of that man. And that man is saved, born again.
July 22, 2006 at 6:33 pm#22633NickHassanParticipantHi H,
To whom belongs this new gospel?July 23, 2006 at 7:57 pm#22670He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantIt is called the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Have you heard of it Nick?
July 23, 2006 at 8:48 pm#22678NickHassanParticipantHi H,
I do not see the gospel of Jesus Christ completely written in that way.
I
Much of it seems like a new one from the futile minds of men.Yes it is a gift.
Yes it is free. But all do not receive it.
Those who have faith become at least as the demons.
Those who respond in repentance and obedience to God's demands enter the kingdom.
Some not wearing the wedding clothes of Christ will be thrown out of the feast.
No demons will be there.
July 23, 2006 at 9:22 pm#22682He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantNick, when is a man born again? Is he born again when he asks Christ into his heart while repenting of his sins or is he born again in the resurrection?
July 23, 2006 at 9:55 pm#22687NickHassanParticipantHi H,
Unless you are born again of water and the Spirit you cannot see the kingdom of God. It is very important that we are able to see the truth of these matters so we must obey. We go to the gatekeeper and enter through that gate unto eternity. We cannot enter that kingdom unless we are born again into the death of the Son and the seed of the Spirit of Christ is planted in our hearts. We grow up into Christ and start to show the leaf and then the fruit of the life of Christ in us as a light shining in the darkness.Watered by faith and continued feeding on the Word and seeking the leading of that Spirit we now take our place at the Right hand of the Father in the heavenlies in Christ. We do not see the work in ourselves till the final product is revealed at the first resurrection and then we find out that we are indeed made like unto Christ
Nowhere does scripture say we should ask Christ into our hearts. We are recommended to ask the Father, as His new Children for the Spirit which is the Spirit of Christ, but new wine needs new wineskins.
July 23, 2006 at 10:09 pm#22690He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantSo you are saying a man is not born again until the resurrection?
July 23, 2006 at 10:16 pm#22692NickHassanParticipantHi H,
Jesus is the firstborn of the dead. We follow him into his death. Our rebirth is now. We work out our salvation as Paul told Timothy, as faithful, enduring, hardworking servants. We only see the fullness at the resurrection.
2Tim 2.10
“For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, and with it eternal glory”Scripture says;
We are saved
We are being saved
We will be saved.
All are truth.July 23, 2006 at 10:24 pm#22693He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantThank you Nick. I believe that rebirth comes when one is forgiven of his sins from a repenting heart. And at that moment, Christ comes into the heart of that man and that man becomes a new creature in Christ.
July 23, 2006 at 10:33 pm#22695NickHassanParticipantHi H,
Unless a grain falls to the ground and dies it remains but a single grain. If we wish to see the life of Christ grow in us we must repent and die in the baptism of water and be raised to new life by the Spirit.July 23, 2006 at 10:37 pm#22696kenrchParticipantQuote (heiscomingintheclouds @ July 23 2006,23:24) Thank you Nick. Jesus said let the DEAD bury the Dead. Old things have passed away, behold ALL things are NEW. We are New creatures in Christ Jesus.Wow! I know I'm not the person I used to be! Thank You Jesus! Amen!!
July 23, 2006 at 10:57 pm#22698He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantAmen. For we are born again by faith. It has nothing to do with water. We believe unto salvation and Christ comes and lives in our hearts. We are reborn, born again in the spirit. The spirit that was dead because of sin, is reborn by Christ, the quickening spirit.
July 23, 2006 at 11:06 pm#22699NickHassanParticipantHi H,
Should Philip have laughed at the eunuch's suggestion about water baptism?
Was Peter wrong to command that those with Cornelius be baptised in water?
Was that a waste of time?
Or should we learn from him about God's priorities in these matters?July 23, 2006 at 11:09 pm#22700kenrchParticipantA new INNER MAN! Because of Adam the old inner man according to Jesus is already dead. Most of the world's people are already dead. The dead cannot enter the kingdom of God!
If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God and died so we can live then you will be saved. Once you do that then you should show an outward witness by being baptized in water. Who in their right mind would NOT want to do that.

It is a work. Read the scriptures. They debated this very issue. There were some who believe the same, that works saved a man, and the scriptures plainly point out it is by grace, not works that save a man. This issue was resolved in the days of the apostles. Why do you persist in keeping it alive. We are saved by grace alone.
Water baptism is a step of faith. It is a work of faith. If a man is not saved, it is useless. It doesn't have any value or signicant meaning. If a man is saved, it is symbolic of the grave, and arising a new creature in Christ. It is a good concience towards God.
July 24, 2006 at 12:49 am#22704NickHassanParticipantHi H,
Where is scripture is water baptism shown as only a symbol?
You speak from dogma in your head and not your faith in your heart.
It is more than a symbol. It is action, a faithbased action and a sign to God, angels and men that we have grasped the message from God. We believe, we repent and we want to obey all of God's demands.
He demands we be born again of water and the Spirit.
Why do you delay?
Just obey and then you will SEE what he meant. - AuthorPosts
