Isaiah 28:1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!
EPHRAIM WAS A MIXED NATION,OF ISRAEL.
GOD IS HERE SPEAKING OF THE MIXED NATIONS.
PROUD,FAT,AND DRUNKEN,AND IN ERROR.Isaiah 28:2 Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong *one*, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.
THIS STRONG ONE IS JESUS,COMING AS THE WORD OF GOD TO DESTROY THE MIXED NATION. THE IRON AND THE CLAY TOES OF DAN.2. JESUS IS THE ROCK CUT OUT OF A MOUNTAIN IN HEAVEN WITHOUT HANDS.
Isaiah 28:3 The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:
BABYLON THE GREAT,WILL BE ASHES. THE TEN TOES WILL BE NO MORE.
Isaiah 28:4 And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
BABYLON IS AS A FADING FLOWER.AS AN EARLY FRUIT.
PLUCKED AND EATEN,NOT STORED.Isaiah 28:5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
IN THAT DAY: THAT IS THE LORDS DAY,THAT IS THE DAY OF HIS GLORY. HIS COMING IN GLORY,AND EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW.
Isaiah 28:6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
TO JUDGE THEM THAT HAVE BEEN GATHERED TOGETHER TO MAKE WAR WITH THE LAMB.
Isaiah 28:7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
THEY HAVE BEEN MADE DRUNK BY THE PRIESTS AND PROPHETS.WITH THE WINE OF THE WORLD.
Isaiah 28:8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
ALL HAVE SWALLOWED UP FILTH;AND THEY WILL VOMIT IT ALL OUT.
Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? **them that are weaned from the milk**, **and drawn from the breasts**.
KNOWLEDGE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE THAT ARE WEANED FROM FROM THE MILK,AND DRAWN FROM THE BREAST.
THEY HAVE GROWN UP SPIRITUALLY.
MILK ARE FOR SPIRITULLY BABES.Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
Isaiah 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Isaiah 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
Isaiah 28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
TO HAVE UNDERSTANDING,ONE MUST STUDY THE WORD
LINE UPON LINE, AND PRECEPT UPON PRECEPT.
THIS IS HOW GOD HAS HIDDEN HIS MESSAGE.
SO THE HYPOCRITES READING, MAY FALL BACKWARD AND BE BROKEN AND **SNARED**.Isaiah 28:14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
THE RULERS OF THESE PEOPLE.
Isaiah 28:15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
THE RULERS HAVE MADE AN AGREEMENT WITH DEATH.
WHEN THE *OVERFLOWING SCOURGE* WILL COME.
STARTING WITH THE CITY THAT IS CALLED BY THE NAME OF GOD( JERUSALEM,CITY OF PEACE).JER.25:29.
THE AGREEMENT WILL BE TO COME IN TO DESTROY THE DOME. BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT DO IT THEMSELVES.
SO LET SOMEONE ELSE DO IT FOR THEM.Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
THE CORNER STONE WE KNOW;HE THAT BELIEVE IN HIM SHALL NOT BE WORRIED.
Isaiah 28:17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
THERE WILL BE A JUDGEMENT DAY FOR ALL, AND THE LIES
WILL BE OVERFLOWN.WILL BE REVEALED.Isaiah 28:18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
THAT AGREEMENT SHALL BE THEIR DESTRUCTION.
JERUSALEM SHALL BE TRODDEN BY THE GENTILES FOR 3/HALF YEARS.REV.11.Isaiah 28:19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.
IT WILL COME NON STOP, DAY AND NIGHT.
Isaiah 28:20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.
THEY HAVE TAKEN TOO MUCH HAY, THEY CAN FIND NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.
Isaiah 28:21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
IT WILL BE *AS*
MT. PERAZIM BAAL WAS; WHEN DAVID CONQUERED THE PHILISTINES.Isaiah 28:22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
THERE WILL BE MANY MOCKERS I KNOW.UNLESS YOUR BAND OF RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS STRONG
THE CONSUMPTION WILL COME UPON THE WHOLE EARTH.Isaiah 28:23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
OPEN THE EARS,AND HEAR.
Isaiah 28:24 Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break the clods of his ground?
Isaiah 28:25 When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the rie in their place?
IN OTHER WORDS: BEFORE THE SOWING BEGINS;THE GROUND MUST BE PREPARED FIRST.
Isaiah 28:26 For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him.
THE LORD DOES TEACH HOW TO DECERN SCRIPTURES.
Isaiah 28:27 For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.
THE FITCHES AND THE CUMMIN WILL NOT BE GRINDED
BUT SEPERATED FROM THE PLANT BY BEATING IT WITH A STICK.Isaiah 28:28 Bread corn is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen.
SO ALSO WITH THE BREAD CORN.
Isaiah 28:29 This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.
SINCE IT COMES FROM THE LORD.WE NEED TO TAKE NOTICE.

Alas for the proud
Isaiah 28:1 & 3-4 Alas for the proud peoples of Ephraim, those fading flowers, drunk with prosperity. They will fall like ripe fruit and be trampled down.
Ephraim = the British peoples, with their faded empire, but still a proud and prosperous commonwealth of nations. Isaiah 17:4-6Isaiah 28:2 & 5-6 Y’hovah has a powerful assistant, [Psalm 2:7-9, Matthew 3:12] He will beat down violently upon the earth, as a sweeping storm and a destroying tempest. On that Day, the Lord will be an adornment for the remnant of His people and will give a spirit of justice to those who judge and of valour to those who defend the city.
This passage is paralleled by Isaiah 30:25b-28…On the Day of massacre, when fortresses fall, the sun will shine seven times stronger, like seven days in one. On that Day, the Lord will protect and save His people. See: the Lord come from afar, His anger blazing and His doom heavy, as a devastating fire. He sieves out the nations for destruction.
The Lords Day of vengeance and wrath, the next prophesied event. 2 Samuel 22:8-16 & Psalm 18:7-15 describes accurately how the Lord will not be seen and this terrible judgement will be thought of as a natural event, so people can still choose whether they honour God, or deny Him. Isaiah 66:15-16, Isaiah 6:10Isaiah 28:7-8 These people [the Israelites] have lost their way and wander down strange paths, they are befuddled as with strong drink, they stumble in the Law. Both priests and prophets are incoherent, sickness and filth are everywhere.
Israel and Judah have gone astray, the rabbi’s and priests are incompetent and fail to teach all the truths as given to us in the Bible.Isaiah 28:9-13 Who is there that can be taught, who makes sense of what they hear? People are like children, newly weaned, for the Word is precept upon precept, a little here, a little there. So now, with a foreign tongue, the Lord will address this people, a people that would not listen, a people to whom He once said: This is true rest, your place of repose. Therefore to them the Word will become meaningless, mere noise to them and they will fall and be injured.

Now with a foreign tongue, that is not Hebrew, He will speak to the 12 tribes of Israelites, those peoples who did not listen and obey their God, so long ago. But all who do not make an effort to read the prophesies and understand our Bibles, may experience some disadvantage.

I see the rest of Isaiah 29:14-20 as happening during the 7 year period before the Return of Jesus. The Lord's people by then living in all of the holy Land, will agree to a peace treaty with the dictator [the Anti-Christ] of the one world govt. This is a bad mistake, for God is their strength. The AC will break that treaty at the mid point and conquer New Israel. He will desecrate the Temple and this starts the great Tribulation. 3.5 years later Jesus Returns and destroys his army and chains the Ac up.

Who are the people that will re-inhabit the holy Land after all that area is cleared and cleansed by the Day of the Lord’s wrath?
The new Israelites, those who come to live in the new country of Beulah, [Isaiah 62:1-5] cannot be those who are apostate or of any sort of deviant personality. But there must be many left alive in the world who will credit the terrible Day of the Lord’s wrath to a natural event and continue on in their disbelief of a Creator God.
Ezekiel 20:37-38 is the best scripture that tells how the Lord will gather all Israel, then judge them and those who ‘revolt and rebel’, will not enter the Land. Jer 5:26-29
Amos 9:10…the sinners of My people will die by the sword… Isaiah 65:11-12
Isaiah 35:8-10…no one unclean will travel along the ‘Way of Holiness’ into Zion.
As we see in Daniel 7:25, it is the ‘holy ones of the Most High’ who are present in the Land during the end time events.
Unfortunately it is evident that the new Israelites go to some extent along the same path as their ancestors and in their prosperity, begin to fall away from the true faith in the Lord as their protector and they agree to a peace treaty with the AC. What the Lord thinks about this is in Isaiah 28:14-20 It seems that verses 21-22 refer to the great Tribulation.
The rest of the world’s nations will be under the One World Government, a ten region entity governed by councils each headed by a President. They will soon confer their power and authority onto one charismatic leader, Rev 17:13So then, unrighteous and evil people will be present on earth right up until the Return of Jesus. Then, many prophesies say how the wicked are doomed. But Satan will be released at the end of the 1000 years and he will ‘seduce the nations’ for the one last time. This will sort out those who have kept their faith and those who rebel for the last earthly judgement.
For us, knowing how important it is to keep firm hold onto trusting the Lord for our protection during the forthcoming traumatic times ahead, it is a matter of life or death- Life eternal with Jesus or Death; eventual total annihilation.
