    Hi Georgie,

The term 'new kings arising' is not used anywhere in Daniel chapter 7.
Are you still not able to see the parallel between Daniel Chapter 2 and Chapter 7?

Head of gold:                Babylon                           …Lion (Daniel 7:4)

    Arms of silver:               Medo-Persians               …Bear (Daniel 7:5)

Thighs of brass:            Greece                           …Leopard (Daniel 7:6)

Plus the term 'like a lion' is specifically used by
Jeremiah the Prophet concerning the king of Babylon.

This actually is evidence, along with the parallel of Chapter 2.     …why is this so difficult for you to grasp?
If you are going to substitute the facts of fulfilled Prophecy for your opinions, how can you possibility
hope to convince others that you are right about your private interpretations of future Prophecy?

    God bless

To Pierre, Devolution, and Georgie, concerning the word shall in Daniel 7:17…

The word “shall” was added by the translators for purposes of clarity.
But instead of it providing clarity to you, you instead are fogging
    up their intention by discounting definitions #1 and 2 and 4;
by insisting that only definition number 3 was meant.                            …it is not wise to treat the bible in this manor.

    Shall   (Webster)

    1 – archaic a : will have to : must
b : will be able to : can

2 – a —used to express a command or exhortation (you shall go)
b —used in laws, regulations, or directives to express what is mandatory (it shall be unlawful to carry firearms)

3 – a —used to express what is inevitable or seems likely to happen in the future (we shall have to be ready) (we shall see)
b —used to express simple futurity (when shall we expect you)

4 – —used to express determination (they shall not pass)

    Hi Ed

We've moved on from Chapter 2.

Many are like a lion. Jesus is described as a lion as well, from the tribe of Judah. It''s not evidence Ed, because it doesn't fit the other scriptures. You are looking at a descriptive word and say that must be it, without discerning the rest. You can believe your theory all you like, I can't change that, and I don't mean to sound arrogant, but if you are happy with your food, eat it. We've discussed and hit a dead end. I only know what I know, and I know enough to identify if something is not according to truth. I can't help that.
So, up to the others to look into it themselves. Let them seek on their own, and not just trust what I say or what you say, otherwise we would be dictators.

    Devo where are you?
    Wakeup?
    take over please.
    I'm done.
No offence Ed. I just pray that you can see one day, not only this but many things
May the Lord give you a thirst for the truth Ed,
    Peace to you always Ed.
    Signing off this thread now.

    2) Why do you think it would be important for the vision to represent how many Persian Kings there were, but not how many Media kings there were?

Because God only concentrates on the ones that play a leading role in His plan…otherwise we'd have a bible so big we'd need a forklift just to lift it. The significance of counting the Persian kings gave not only Daniel a precise understanding, but us also.

    Cheers Ed.

    Hi Devolution,

“it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it:
and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.” (Dan 7:5)
Are you suggesting the fourth King devoured the first three kings?

    God bless
    Ed J (Joshua 22:34)
    http://www.holycitybiblecode.org

    Hi Ed,

    What are ribs?
Ribs are bones….this is signifying 3 kings before him have passed.

The command to arise and devour much flesh signifies the casualties of war that came from stirring up Grecia etc.

So the flesh being devoured is on both sides, as is usually what happens in war…civilians and soldiers.

    Cheers.

    3) Why you believe the fourth Persian king stirred Greece to attack?

Ed, i am surprised you have asked this question?
I question whether you should even be debating with me or J42 or Pierre on this subject if you need ask such a question?
Why do “we” believe this? Well simply because scripture says it plainly in 11:2 ??????

    Daniel 11:2
And now i will shew you the truth. Behold, there will stand up yet three kings in Persia, and the fourth shall be far richer than they all, and by his strength through his riches, HE SHALL stir up all against the realm of Grecia

So you see Ed….we are not saying this, scripture is…and quite plainly at that.

    Cheers Ed.

    Hi Devolution,

It's nice to get an answer once in a while!
I do not consider discussing the Scriptures a debate.
If you do, then we should be worried about your state of mind.

    Cheers,
    Ed J

    Hi Ed,

Sorry but i don't always get a lot of internet time…it can be very static also (odd times).

Ed, i have been answering you, but it seems that unless i agree with you, you don't consider it an answer?

I also answered one of your questions on one dialogue, several times, but alas….apparently even then i did not answer your question?

So if my answers are not answers, maybe i shouldn't answer you then?…if, of course, you consider this an answer?

    Cheers.
