    Hi Wakeup,

    I have a Scripture that I would like to hear your explanation of;
    would you be willing to give me your understanding of it?

    Hi Wakeup, I'll take that as a “Yes.”

    The first part of this verse is obvious, it is the second part that I want your interpretive view on, OK?

    “Jesus said, For judgment I have come into this world, that they which “see not” might see;
                        and that they which see might be made blind.” (John 9:39)

    EdJ.

    It is obvious that the conversation is about seeing the son of man in the flesh at that time.

    In v.37.he said: Thou hast both(2 of them) seen him,and it is he that talked with thee.
    (Jesus introduced himself to them).

    v.39. For judgement I am come into this world,
    that they which see not might see: (they that see not are the ones born in later generations,that have not seen Jesus in the flesh,and yet understand,and know him).

    And they which see,might be made blind.(those that have seen him in the flesh and heard him speak,and ate with him;are made blind;spiritually blind).

    There is an other scripture that says;
    You have seen me and you believe,blessed are they that have not seen me and believe.

    Can you elaborate more on this?
    The Disciples fall into that category, but
    I don't believe that you mean them; do you?

    John9:39.
    The desciples obviuosly are the ones that saw him in the flesh and believe.
    The majority that saw him and heard him preach are made blind.

    But we have never seen him and we believe,and threrefore we can see him with our understanding.
    Blessed are they that have not seen me and yet believe.

    Hi Wakeup,

    If they seen Jesus but did not believe him – you said that they were made blind.
    …according to this interpretation, would they not already “BE” spiritually blind?

    Spiritually blind is what you mean then, correct?
    Are you also suggesting that it could not happen currently?

    EDJ.

    Before the preaching of Christ ;all were blind,including Peter and the rest,But Christ has opened their understanding,but the rest are kept blind.
    Even the maj.jews today are still kept blind.

    The majority christians today and the past; are kept blind, having eyes, but can not see;having ears, but can not hear.

    But why is it so? because of the heart,deep inside them is not right with God.
    The lips speaks wonderful words,and sings beautiful songs; but the heart is singing an other song,and speaks different words.

    This is not acceptable to God.
    You must worship the Lord your God with all your heart,with all your soul,with all your strenght,with all your mind.

    Hi Wakeup,

    If they were kept blind (as your words suggest),
    then they were NOT REALLY made blind (as Scripture says).

    Your interpretation does not appear to 'fit'  –  please attempt to
    prove yous is a correct interpretation of what Jesus meant.  (1Thess.5:21)

    They always have been blind,and the were kept blind.

    They were made blind is just a matter of speech.
    We should understand what christ is saying.
    No need to make a big issue of this.
    If you are not happy with that word kept blind,you choose made blind.

    Hi Wakeup,

    Are you not going to attempt to prove YOUR interpretation is correct?

    Instead you say by not believing your interpretation means one is blind?     …is this really your belief?

    So anyone who disagrees with you then is (in essence) made spiritually blind (or as you say kept that way, meaning kept 'spiritually blind')?

    The majority are kept blind,as the scripture says.

    Amos 8:11. Behold,the days come,said the Lord God,that I will send a famine IN THE LAND, not a famine of bread,nor a thirst for water,but of the –HEARING–THE WORD OF GOD.

    Open the ears.
