Upon this rock, Jesus Christ built his Church

Balancing Rock Girraween

For many Christian denominations, the foundation of their faith is usually a version of the Trinity Doctrine in some form. But is this doctrine really the true foundation of the Church? Let’s take a look at the actual foundation that Jesus Christ built his Church on.

Matthew 16:13-18
13 Jesus came into the country of Caesarea Philippi. He asked His followers, “Who do people say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14 They said, “Some say You are John the Baptist and some say Elijah and others say Jeremiah or one of the early preachers.”

15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 Jesus said to him, “Simon, son of Jonah, you are happy because you did not learn this from man. My Father in heaven has shown you this.
18 “And I tell you that you are Peter. On this rock I will build My church. The powers of hell will not be able to have power over My church.

Read the above clearly. Jesus did not build his Church on Peter. He built it on the truth that Peter spoke concerning the true identity of Jesus Christ. And what was that truth? That Jesus is the Son of God and the Christ.

Peter did not say that Jesus was God or one member of a triune God, yet that is the foundation for many. So what is it that tries to fight against the true foundation? Is it not the Gates of Hell that is trying to prevail against this truth. But for what benefit is there to attack the true foundation of the Church, which is the Body of Christ?

Here is the thing. Roman Catholics believe that the foundation was Peter and this is where their line of Popes supposedly comes from. They also believe that the foundation of their faith is the Trinity Doctrine. Not only are they wrong, but their fruit over the centuries proves that this tree was not good.

So which is it? The Catholic faith or the true faith?

Many do not realise that they side with the Catholic faith. However, it is true that this faith and foundation cannot sustain eternally any work built upon her.

For they labour in vain those who build on another foundation.

Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 8:6: for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

He also wrote in Ephesians 4:5-6: one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

And Jesus said it so clearly in John 17:3: Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Are you willing to believe the truth about who God is and who Jesus is over any contrary tradition that was passed down to you?

Kerwin….My post to T8….WAS TO SHOW HIM HE IS WRONG, WITH REGUARDS TO “THE ROCK”, IN MAT15:16-17, Jesus was speaking of, in those scriptures “ONLY”. It had nothing to do with rather he believes in GOD AND/OR JESSUS. MY POINT WAS THAT JESUS USED THE TERM ” I say unto you “Also” was to point out Jesus “ALSO” had the same reaveling knowledge from God the Father to, the same as PETER HAD, and that power from God was the “ROCK” he would use to build the church.

T8…..does not see it that way kerwin.

peace and love to you and yours. ……..gene

If the Spirit of God wrote the bible through human vessels why do you not give the glory to God?

Why do you think that I am not? You are speaking falsely again.

If I speak the words of God, then yes God gets the glory. If I do the work of God, then yes God gets the glory.

He gets the glory for all good things because he is the Most High.

Even when you condemn and judge me I give God the glory. If I have been found worthy of attack because of my faith, then that is a privilege.

Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.

You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

“Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God

I have learned to rejoice in adversity. And love is the evidence of our birth because God is love.

Do you love us, or do you instead speak badly of another man’s servants.

Yes Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Then you admit your teaching is wrong then. Because he was born ‘Jesus’ right, that you cannot deny, yet you say that he was not the Christ when he was born. So clearly this Jesus who was born in a manger was not the Christ to you.

How will you answer when your doctrine teaches clearly that Jesus became the Christ at baptism, when we know he was born as a baby called Jesus and you just admitted that Jesus is the Christ. But then you have to say, oh no, not that Jesus but another one. And older one.

    Hi t8,

Yes the Christ was born at Bethlehem.

But he was not yet anointed.

T8…..You believe JESUS WAS THE CHRIST AT BERTH, while he indeed was the one prophesied to be the Christ, so in that sense a prophetic sense, he was born to be the Christ, but that “ANOINTING”, MAKING HIM A CHRISTO’S OR ANOINITED PERSON, DID NOT HAPPEN TILL HE, “JESUS”, WAS BAPTIZED AT THE JORDAN RIVER. He did not have that anointing on him till it actually happened. What do you do with all those scriptures that show that T8, do you just throw them out as if they did not exist?

    Hi,

Before speaking of the foundation rock Jesus said to Simon Peter

    Mt 16

Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father Who is in heaven

    That is the context

And much of what he said next was repeated to the other disciples in Mt 18.18 f

    Hi t8,

But he was not yet anointed.

Good Nick. You now teach that he was born the Christ as scripture tells us.

Before you were saying that he was not the Christ at that stage of his life.

T8….THE CHRISTO’S WAS NEVER BORN, THE ANOINTING SPIRIT ALWAYS EXISTED, it came to be in the man JESUS, at the JORDAN RIVER AT HIS BAPTIZM. Jesus was bornan ordinary human being, he was not “morphed” from one existence to another as all false christanity says, nor did he ever prexist his berth on the earth. Not a single scripture shows any previous activity of JESUS, befor his human berth on this earth.

Jesus was a SON OF GOD, because he was concieved by God in Mary, the “ONLY” HUMAN EVER CONCIEVED and BEGOTTEN (BORN) THROUGH A HUMAN BERTH PROCESS BY GOD THE FATHER HIMSELF. HE IS ALSO A SON OF MAN, BECAUSE HIS MOTHER WAS A HUMAN BEING, A DECENDENT OF KING DAVID, HE BECAME ASPRITUAL SON OF GOD WHEN HE RECIEVED THE ANOINTING SPIRIT OF GOD AT THE JORDAN RIVER, AND FROM THERE WAS SENT INTO THE WILDERNESS TO BE TESTED FOR 40 DAYS, AND AFTER THAT, OUT INTO THE WORLD TO PREACH THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

JESUS’ BERTH WAS NO GREATER THE THAT OF ADAM AND EVE, AS FAR AS A MERICALE IS CONCERNED, AND ADAM IS ALSO CALLED A SON OF GOD,HE WAS NOT BORN BUT A CREATED SON, JESUS WAS A “BORN” HUMAN SON OF GOD. THE ONLY ONE WHO EVER WAS A HUMAN, BORN OF FLESH, AS A SON OF GOD HIMSELF.

BUT NON OF THAT MADE JESUS ONE OUNCE DIFFERENT THE WE ARE, AS BEING HUMAN GOES. HE WAS THE FIRST HUMAN OF “MANKIND” TO BE BORN INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD, AND THE FIRST FROM HUMANITY TO RECIEVE ETERNAL LIFE. HE IS THE FIRSTBORN AND THEREFORE HOLD THAT POSITION IN THE FAMILY OF GOD AS THE FIRST “BORN” .

peace and love to you and yours. ………gene

    Hi t8,

    You did not understand.

    Perhaps now you do?

Yes I understand that you were saying that he was not the Christ at that stage in his life. But have you changed your mind on this for sure?  Was he born the Christ? Elsewhere I have read that you say he became the Christ at the baptism of John meaning that he could not have been the Christ at birth. To sum up what I have heard you teach is that you basically say that Jesus Christ was born at the baptism of John and Jesus the man was born at birth. But scripture says that Jesus Christ came in the flesh.

T8….THE CHRISTO’S WAS NEVER BORN, THE ANOINTING SPIRIT ALWAYS EXISTED

    Irrelevant to the point Gene.

Jesus Christ was born in a manger and men came and honoured this baby as the Christ sent by God. Would you have done the same?

    Hi t8,

The powers of God expressed among men reveal the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

If you teach that Jesus was born anointed when does scripture show this and what powers did the infant demonstrate?

    Hi t8,

You taught that the anointing at the Jordan was just some sort of public revelation of a previous event did you not?

Did God teach you this personally or is it just to justify your false teaching of a prior anointing?

Listen carefully Nick. I believe that when he came in the flesh, he was Jesus Christ. He was born Jesus Christ and recognised as such. You cannot condemn what I am saying can you?

You taught that the anointing at the Jordan was just some sort of public revelation of a previous event did you not?

I taught the following because it is written:

John testified saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him. “I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’

You see, John testified to the one and the sign given him as to who that was, is what I was saying. Twisting words to win a debate Nick is not good. Whatever accusation you throw at me, you cannot defeat the truth that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. Ask yourself at what point he came in the flesh. Was it at the Jordan or when he was born in a manger.

So you sacrifice the proven anointing for a misunderstood prophetic verse?

    Hi T8,

Despite the fact that the infant did nothing to reveal the mighty power of God

and was yet even to be named

you cling to the traditional understanding.

tradition cannot cope with the Spirit.

Nick, Jesus Christ came in the flesh. When did he come in the flesh? Was it at the Jordan.

I do not deny all those things you say I do. Rather it appears to be a smoke-screen to the real issue. What is that issue? That you teach that Jesus was not the Christ until Jordan.

    Hi T8,

and was yet even to be named

you cling to the traditional understanding.

If you understanding of what happened at the Jordan invalidates Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh or if it invalidates that Jesus is the Christ, then you need to reevaluate.

Men honoured him as the Christ and another was even told by God that he would see the Christ before he died and he saw Jesus as a baby.

Some translations call these men, ‘wise men’. They acknowledged Jesus as the Christ upon seeing a sign. They were wise because they recognised the sign and also recognised him as the messiah.
