A woman went to her gynecologist.
– Doctor, I have a very serious problem and I need your help desperately! My baby’s not yet a year old and I’m pregnant again. I don’t want another son.
The doctor said:
– What exactly do you want me to help you with?
The woman replied:
– I want an abortion!
After thinking for a few moments, the doctor said:
– Look, I have an idea that seems better to me and it’s also less risky.
The doctor continued:
– If you don’t want to take care of two babies, why don’t we kill the one in your arms. This way you will get some rest until the other is born. After all, you want to kill one of the children and this way seems the most convenient.
The woman replied:
– what a monster, you are proposing that I kill my son which is a crime.
The doctor in turn replied:
– I agree. But I thought that wasn’t a problem for you.
– I’m just suggesting that you choose the son who will be murdered.
Then, the woman’s face changed in a way that made clear what the doctor was really saying.
He had convinced her that there was no difference between killing the child in her arms or one in her belly. Both were heinous crimes because they were the same crime of murder.
Jeremiah 1:5 says:
