It is English. I am either correct or incorrect. You probably do not have the knowledge to determine which.

I do know that commas separate the elements of a simple list. In a complex list the elements of the list are separated by semi colons and commas are used to separate the internal elements. So the semi colon use in 1 John 5:19-20 indicates a slight break.

Here is an example of a slight break.

Hi Jammin.

This is a very hard question,and imposible to explain unless the Holy spirit is given.
Jesus said it himself,in luke 10:22.NO MAN KNOWS WHO THE SON IS BUT THE FATHER: AND WHO THE FATHER IS,BUT THE SON AND WHOM THE SON WILL REVEAL HIM.
So only when the son will reveal it to a person,THEN HE CAN UNDERSTAND.

As I stated earlier pronoun use is tricky. From what I learned from the semi colon source what you suggest sounds like a complex list. In the case of a complex list semi colons separate the elements of the list while commas are within the elements.

Here is a breakdown of the sentence in 1 John 5:18-20 as written in the YLT.

First element: We have known that every one who hath been begotten of God doth not sin, but he who was begotten of God doth keep himself, and the evil one doth not touch him;

Second element:we have known that of God we are, and the whole world in the evil doth lie;

Third element: and we have known that the Son of God is come, and hath given us a mind, that we may know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ;

Forth element: this one is the true God and the life age-during!

The Young's Literal Translation clearly translates “this one is the true God and the life age-during! ” as the final bullet in a list.
