I found the following paragraph very interesting:
“The next point is that when John (and Matthew, Mark, and Luke also) clearly meant “God” when writing theos (the form of the Greek word which ends in ς), he always used the definite article (‘the’ in English – ‘ho’ in Greek): ho theos. (You can tell that o in NT Greek is ‘ho’ if it h…[Read more]

Thank you for your explanation. So you think he denies the power of God because he may or may not be J.W. Interesting. I didn’t see anything about any specific religion in this thread, and what that religion believes, so I’m not sure if that explanation actually answers the question, however what I got from this thread is that today God…[Read more]

I read the start of this thread, and was wondering why you think David does not believe in the power of God? I believe the topic was based on whether he gives people today the ability to perform miracles like he did in biblical days. I didn’t really equate that to him not believing in the power of God. Unless he deleted something before I…[Read more]

Thank you for explaining. I understand your reasoning about Jesus saying is it not written “ye are gods”…yet they are not gods…so Jesus himself was saying all that is written is not true. (I think that was your reasoning, I apologize if I misunderstood)..But remember here Jesus is addressing the charge of blasphemy. He is actually qu…[Read more]

So you believe that Peter was possessed by Satan? and that is why he said “Get behind me Satan”? Are you saying Jesus was actually casting out a spirit, when he said “get behind me Satan”… ? Just need to make sure I understand what you are actually saying. Not at Mark…but at Matthew.

Hi Nick
Thanks! At Matt 16:23 It says “But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.” Why do you think he “rebuked the spirit of Peter”.. or should I ask what do you mean by “he rebuked the spirit of Peter”.. based on that scripture.

That is a very interesting point. Can you tell me which scripture you are referencing?

Tigger –
I’ve taken the time to read your “Seven lessons for John 1:1”. Thank you for taking the time to post it. I understand that ALL bibles are actual translations of the original, and that none are in its original language (hence the word translation) So we must rely on what has been translated, but how can we, when there are so many d…[Read more]

Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Hello Ed J
Thank you for providing more scriptures. What I mentioned about reasoning at Acts 5:3-4 …was not My reasoning..I was using YOUR REASONING..it was just to show that implying that scripture shows that holy spirit is God (which was your reasoning)…than one could use that same reasoning to say that Peter is God because…

I have read many comments regarding this subject, (the 3 Gods in one Godhead) and notice that the third God, ” God The Holy Spirit” is often left out, hardly discussed, and seemingly having the least scriptural evidence, so this particular comment caught my eye. After reading Acts 5:3-4, and by using the reasoning of this scripture as an implicat…[Read more]
