I found the following paragraph very interesting:
“The next point is that when John (and Matthew, Mark, and Luke also) clearly meant “God” when writing theos (the form of the Greek word which ends in ς), he always used the definite article (‘the’ in English – ‘ho’ in Greek): ho theos. (You can tell that o in NT Greek is ‘ho’ if it h…[Read more]

your lessons are completely sound and furthermore it agrees with the thinking of the time as Jesus said:
John 10:33-35English Standard Version (ESV)
33 The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.” 34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not w…[Read more]

Hi @tigger
Matt 24
4And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. 5“For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6“You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7“For nation will…[Read more]

Once again, thank you for the time it took you to make your post. And, once again, ‘first’ is not an appropriate translation of arche’. I have also never seen it translated that way in any Bible in Rev 3:14. Do you know of a Bible translation that translates arche’ as ‘first’ for Rev 3:14?
God bless!

I do appreciate your efforts however, you are incorrect. For one, you change the beginning as a noun and turn it into ‘first’ which would be an adjective. The grammar doesn’t support your argument. Also, you treat the word ‘creation’ as if it means ‘creatures’ but that would be a different Greek word and it would also be plural. So that…[Read more]

@tigger, you are trying to tell us that the creator created the beginning of the creation of God through the beginning of the creation of God. That is not possible. That is why you have to add ‘the rest of’ to ‘He created creation’ in your response. Btw, how could He create ‘in the beginning’ if the beginning did not already exist?
Gen 1:1 In the…[Read more]

Whoever wrote that Ignatius used “God” in a quote of 1 Tim. 3:16 is, I believe, completely wrong.
I would appreciate an answer to my question.
Why is there no name or information for the person who made that comment?
Glad you researched this. And the reason that the person is not a member of the forum is because they originally mad…[Read more]

Very good, theos can simply mean mighty one. The question is, ultimately, which mighty ones participated in creation, salvation, and are given dominion, glory, honor, and praise for ever and ever by the other mighty ones??? Do you know? Maybe if you read the other things those sources tell you, you will see what they say and while you are…[Read more]
