But the focus of God in the Scriptures is on the real history – His work through the Spirit.
Man glories in the efforts of human vessels and they are relevant too, but as scripture states ;
FLESH CONTRIBUTES NOTHING.
We are less than ants in the whole picture.
The word was with God and was God speaks of spiritual things
The Word was made…[Read more]

Hi Berean,
A normal human being but an exceptionally pious one who never sinned.
Guided by the law and the prophets with the help of freely available grace and the discipline of his Father he was prepared for the Jordan.

Of course God was in the Messiah reconciling the world to Himself.
Thomas figured it out.
” My Lord
and
My God”

Naah Berean,
He was the same nature as you and I, an ordinary man, till God anointed him with the Holy Spirit, transforming his nature and empowering him for service.

You are the Christ, the son of the living God.
This statement was confirmed by Jesus to be from the Holy Spirit.
But folks prefer their own carnal understandings and want to make the Son his God,

Surely Carmel, you would not join his ignorant accusers and want to stone him?

So the answer is no.
He worshipped and served his God and our God.’

Sorry.
It was another Eusebius, Eusebius of Nicomedia, not Eusebius of Caesarea who baptised Constantine.

Hi PC,
I have not said that only those who have been correctly baptised will be saved because it is the decision of the loving Fathers to make.
But Heb 4 does warn about missing out on the rest of God.
Many will be given mercy I am sure.
But safety first.

So it is the decision of God whether or not to accept that the repentance of Constantine was adequate. And we do not know whether he was correctly baptised.
I think it was Eusebius who baptised him. He was an interesting historian who claimed to have had access to an original copy of Matthew’s gospel.
He quoted Mt 28 often and the first 8 t…[Read more]

Paul rebaptised the 12 who had not been baptised in the name of Jesus/ Yahshua in Acts 19
Peter ordered that those who had received the Spirit first be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ in Acts 10.

Hi PC,
Forgiveness of sins is offered by baptism in the name of the Lord.
Scripture does warn about dying in your sins.
Washing of the feet symbolises the need to constantly seek God’s forgiveness after baptism.
Jn 13.10
Jesus said to him
“He who has bathed needs only to was his feet, but is completely clean, and you are clean , but not all…[Read more]

Hi PC,
It is not for us to muse about theology but to obey God.
Nick replied to the topic I was baptized into the Trinity in the forum Inspirational writings & sermons 1 year, 2 months ago
Hi PC,
We have about 15 baptisms in Acts to learn from and none appear to have been done in the name of a trinity. There are no scriptural witnesses to the baptism in Mt 28 in the name of a trinity.

Hi Pc,
The water that is spoken of in 1 Peter 3 symbolising baptism is the floodwaters that destroyed a generation saving only 8 in the time of Noah.

“Get up. Wash away your sins calling on his name”
There are variations on how scripture describes baptism,” in the name of Jesus , Christ, in the name of the Lord.”
So if God shows us it is not a matter of being pedantic we should accept that.

Hi PC,
in reply.
Simon the magician, was baptised in the name of Jesus in Acts 8, but God found his repentance inadequate. It is not an ordinance but a plea to God as 1 Peter 3 told us . Since the decision was made by God I should not prejudge that. Would you?

Hi Berean,
Can you not hear the voice of the Spirit in the Son of God?
then go back to seeking the rebirth from above.
