God that you realise that the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1Cor 12)only manifested in the man Jesus after his Anointing.Yes, in the least, it was confirmation that he was the messiah.

Yes John knew by the prophetic Spirit in him that Jesus was the Messiah and as king and high priest to be greater than he was.He could have known before the baptism that he was the Christ. He certainly recognised that he was greater than himself, of whom was said to be the greatest man born of a woman, but even the least in the kingdom was greater. Makes you think.
Before he was even baptized with God’s HolySpirit, Nick?
