Jesus was already the Son of God and someday He was to be acknowledged so by man. Man’s acknowledgement does not make Him the Son of God.

Jesus did not have an evil desire ever even when He asked for another way to redeem man while being deeply grieved and asking the Father for the ‘cup’ to be removed. Desires can be good or bad. Jesus was filled with good desires and was encouraged to give birth to those good desires which produced good fruit. He did not have bad desires which when encouraged, give birth to sin. Fulfilling God given good desires is possible and righteous as a human and is what Jesus did. Bottom line, although beings, human or otherwise, can and do try to persuade God or man to do something, God will never allow beings to persuade Him to act in a way that is less than perfect love because perfect love, grace and truth fill His heart and His mind so to speak. Well, my point is that He is speaking of another person and not of Himself in the third person. I understand that at times Jehovah or anyone can speak in third person and it is actually regarding themselves. Our belief system, if incorrect, will blind us to the correct understanding.

Did you see in the Isaiah 8 passage that Jehovah is speaking of Jehovah of hosts as if He is someone else other than Himself? The other person that Jehovah calls Jehovah of hosts is the stone of offense, not faith. Peter ties that stone to be Jesus, not faith. In both passages, the subject is a person that is the stone, not faith.
