More of an image as we only receive the Spirit through Jesus Christ. Jesus has been given the authorities of the word God breaths out of his mouth while believers are only to the extent of the gifts they receive and the Spirit they live by.

I do not see the worthless one sitting in the heavenly temple though it may not be intended to be taken literal. That is the he symbolically sits on the mercy seat of God, which is in the Temple of God. I can see a man doing the same on the temple mound to demonstrate there is no God. In any case I do not think it has happened yet.

My point is Scripture is constructed in a logical manner. That does not stop it from being misinterpreted even by the use of logic or the Sadducees would repented on the when Jesus pointed out the flaw in their logic. I would think so but there is also Ephesians 6:12 which speaks of “spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places”.

The fallen no longer fully obey God’s words. Even they are ruled by certain facets of the Logos of God as is revealed in Job. So the will of God holds sway both in heaven and on earth.
