Gene,
I hold that God has the power to determine the circumstances of humanity’s free choices but he uses that power for the good of those that love him. (Romans 8:28)

Nick,
Like you jump to the conclusion my reasoning is speculation, so to did the Sadducees decide that Jesus’ reasoning was flawed. As answered them so do I answer you. Scripture cannot be broken.

Nick,
Jesus did have an advantage over those humans that did not have the Spirit just like those that have received the Spirit has have an advantage over those that have not yet received it. Jesus did not obtain the righteousness of God by human effort but he did obtain it by the Spirit.

Nick,
It is two verses and the context of Scripture in general. The second verse is Ephesians 4:1-6 where the unity if the Spirit is addressed. I am also using as some of the context Galatians 5:16-23.
Believers are not to be mentally lazy but instead to learn by the sweat of our brows.

Eze 36:26….A NEW HEART also will I (GOD) give you, and a New SPIRIT will I (GOD) put within you: and I (GOD) will take away the stony heart OUT OF YOUR FLESH, and I (GOD) will give you an HEART OF FLESH.
He has to give us a new heart and a new Spirit because those not in the new covenant can only live according the the flesh and it is t…[Read more]

I explained how God hardened the Pharaoh’s heart instead of denying he did.
You already know free will is not random will and so it can be predicted how a person will react under any circumstances by the one being that knows and controls all circumstances. God controlled the circumstances so that the Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, which is…[Read more]

“Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen,
My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased!
I will put My Spirit upon Him,
And He will declare justice to the Gentiles. These words imply God’s Servant did not posses the Spirit of God prior to the time God gave it t…[Read more]

t8,
I have questions about the if those words actually come from the Koran.
Quranic Arabic CorpusYusuf Ali: The Jews call ‘Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded…

Gene,
The Pharaoh freely chose his actions based on the circumstances of the choice that he was presented with. The evil of his choice came from his own heart.
Just as God 7preappointed times and the boundaries of where each of us dwell he also predetermines the circumstances and choices that will come up in during our lives. God appointed…[Read more]

AndrewAD,
Jesus teaches us moral evil comes from our hearts and so it is our hearts that chooses. Because it comes from our hearts it is not a created thing but instead an action. If anything God came up with the concept of moral evil but as an author can come up with such a concept and yet be distanced from its reality. He also creates those…[Read more]

Paul spoke but ignorant and corrupt humans misinterpreted his words just as Peter claims. This is done with the words of John and other passages of Scripture as well. It is for us to learn not to spread those untruths we have learned nor to invent others.

AndrewAD,
What definition do you chose for “evil” and “good” when you hear created evil and good?
The sentence sounds plausible with more than one definition but it does not mean that it is true for every one of those plausible definitions. I go with God creates both calamities and godsends. I do not go with “God creates moral wickedness and…[Read more]

According to Scripture God cannot be tempted by evil but humans are tempted. That implies God is not control humans for if he did they would not be able to be tempted by evil. If God controlled them humans definitely could not sin. God thus created man with the ability to choose between good and evil or humanity gave it to themselves…[Read more]

You have not yet addressed my post to you on the last page but perhaps it is better to address it one point at a time. I said:
God did create our will but then he is the Creator and we should not confuse him with a creation. It is like claiming God murders a human because he declares it is that human’s time to die. He is the force of N…

You confuse free will with who created are will. Free will is the ability to choose of one’s own will.

Philo is a source of Jewish culture at the time of Christ.
The logos Philo preached was not a being. Instead it had the qualities of God without being God.
John is claiming that the logos has the qualities of God. Some falsely assume that those qualities include being God and that the word is the preexistant Jesus.
Of course the…[Read more]

I have not looked into them in detail but the Babylonians and Greeks viewed earth as the mother and sky as the father. The Egyptians have a creator god (Atum) they claim created himself. Comparable mythology is interesting.
kerwin replied to the topic in the forum Free Will? 10 years, 2 months ago
Princess,
The idea if mother earth and father sky is quite common though Scripture does not view earth as a being, much less a god, and views father sky as God of all things. Many myths seem to arise from artistic liberties and misunderstanding of what is written in Scripture even though the later was written more recently.
This has little to…[Read more]

Earth was Adam’s Mother and God was his Father so I think the will of a human is a creation of God and therefore neither of male or female. I do not know whether or not will inherited genetically.
