Adam,I did not understand his argument as it relates to the passover lamb forshadowing Jesus act of self sacrifice which sealed the new covenant.I also asked about his link of Abraham sacrificing a goat instead of his Son to the Passover which occured many years later as the link he mentioned is unclear to me.You failed to answer my question which…[Read more]

Nick,I agree the new and righteousn spirit leads to eternal life. Here are a couple of scriptures that mention the spirit of prostitution that you can consider.Hosea 4:12 and Hosea 5:4Isn't a spirit of prostitution an unclean spirit?

I know that God is righteous and does not sin nor is he tempted by sin. I also know that God desires his people to righteous as he is even when tempted by sin. I know the principles of this world are sin and that the principles of the spirit are righteousness. In these things and other I have come into the light though the world may be dark. I…[Read more]

Adam,A correction. My prior post is in another thread and you have answered it there.

Adam,Do you understand what your source is saying? If so them please explain his point to me.What does he mean by “Foreshadow”?Why does he compare the sacrifice of a goat by Abraham to the sacrifice of the lamb at Passover? That connection apears to be mystical.Do you see any other connection?

Adam,What you wrote tells me that your reasoning is flawed as the New Testiment ideas do not contradict those of the Old Testiment. I have so idea what false premises you are bassing your assumptions on but I know that eiter they and/or your means of reaching your conclusions are false because your conclusions are.I tried to explain my reasoning…[Read more]

Nick Hassan,You are confused between the psychological and the spiritual but in this case their may be some similarities though I am more informed about the later. It is difficult for those that are in the darkness to come out into the light as their deeds will be revealed to be dark. Though it is difficult it is also needed for unrighteousness to…[Read more]

Philo is a Jew and John is a Jew and thus the roots of their philosophies are the same even though each individual had a different variation of that philosophy. I hold John's to be true as he preaches the true message of the New Covenant while Philo sought to bring understanding of the Jewish traditions to those who needed their knowledge of it…[Read more]

Nick Hassan,I understand that you are full of fear and that fear leads you to atempt to sound mystical which you seem to call spiritual but the Spirit God should lead lead you to speak intelligibly even if only to those who are drawn by their hunger and thirst for God's righteousness.Your words even when you seem to attempt to make them vague only…[Read more]

Nick Hansan,Though the particular item Paul was adressing the principle of intelligible conversation to is the use of tongues the principle applies to the scripture in general. Think of it this way what good is a bible to an individual who does not understand the language that bible is written in. It is useless as all it is to them is a bunch of…[Read more]

Nick Hassan,It seems you do not believe scripture when Paul teaches that he would rather speak five words intelligible words to instruct others, 1 Corinthians 14,19. That should not be but it is all I can think of to explain why you are arguing that unintelligible words are better than intelligible words. Why do you instruct people to disobey God…[Read more]

Nick Hassan,At time Jesus did speak clearly but not always as John 16:29 shows us. He answers why he choose not to speak clearly in Matthew 13:13 and surrounding verses. As for inferences they are not considered unclear to those who can reach valid and sound concclusions based on the facts. For those whose reasoning skills are limited it may be a…[Read more]

Nick Hassan,You are correct that Jesus concluded that there is a resurection of the dead based on the fact that those individuals mentioned “were yet alive to God because they had been blessed of the abiding and living Spirit of God”. Reaching a conclusion based on the facts is one definition of the word infer. What do you think infer means?
kerwin replied to the topic Inference in the forum Truth or Tradition 16 years, 4 months ago
Nick Hassan,Why do you choose to add to what God states. God does not claim he does not infer. That is your claim. In fact if we take Jesus at his word then God does infer as Jesus infered from Exodus 3:6 that there is a resurection from the dead. It is the Sadducees who took your view that such inference is sinful and thus they concluded the…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ June 08 2010,11:36)Hi KW, You inferred that. But you should know the language of the Spirit. In this case you are inferring what that means. It is a bit vague but it seem obvious you are speaking about me inferring the word “spiritual”. If you are not then please clarify what you mean. Thank you.
