To all,We are not conceived with sin since we are each responcible for our own actions. I do not know if one is capable of sin in their mother's womb though I believe one is not accountable for their own sin for some time after they leave their mother's womb.On the other hand we are conceived with a corrupt spirit that we inherited from our…[Read more]

Tim Kraft,In reaching your conclusion you make the assumtion that the word “spirit” is used in the same way and with the same definition in two different scriptures. Can you prove that is so?When Jesus states his words are spirit he appears to be speaking figuratively in order to make a point. You seem to be taking them literally which is in…[Read more]

Nick Hassan,What I stated is true even if it is not what 2 Corinthians 3:17 is teaching. I simply voiced an opinion about a possible interpretation of that verse even though I did not actually read either that verse or its context at the time. I did not claim that I knew with any certainty what the correct interpretation is. If someone ch…[Read more]

To all,The Lord is the spirit may simply mean that a Christian is to obey the commands of the spirit of holiness that they received on being immersed in water because they believe that Jesus was apointed and is King of everything in heaven and on earth. Jesus issues his commands to us through the spirit of holiness that he recieved from our…[Read more]

To all,I am of the opinion that Christ is in those who enter the new covenant because the same spirit of holiness that was in him is not in those that believe. The origion of the spirit of holiness is God and thus both God and Jesus are in those that believe just as Jesus asked in his prayor in John 17.In other words it is not the soul or f…[Read more]

Barley,What do you mean when you state we fullfill the law without fullfiling all of the works of the Law?I ask because you sound like your understanding is similar to mine on this issue but due to the nature of language I cannot be sure. Rokkaman wrote:Quote The only way Jesus could have not sinned was by having a godly obedience. Are you stating in order to obey Jesus had to be God? If so then are you stating the angels who have not sinned are God?What scripture states is that “the righteous live by faith” and we know God through that faith and that nothing is impossible for God.

Gene,The fact that “There is no forgiveness of sin without the shedding of Blood” is tied to the fact that the wage of sin is death. Jesus chose to die in our place and because he never sinned, despite being tempted even as we are, his act of mercy was sufficient to to pay the wages of all that chose to believe.

Adam,I do not understand the point you are attempting to make. My point is that the idea that Jesus is God is a strawman argument as it is definitely not taught in scripture.
