terrarica,
They actually mean “spirit” but other words are synonymous to a degree.
It has many meanings and more than one of them may apply to any passage it is mentioned.
“natural” on the other hand is deceptive at times since it is a synonym that hides aspects of the truth when the actual word is soulish.

Gene,
I had not said anything one way or another but I do agree with his words on that subject.
I am not how it benefits anyone to mention at this time.
We all need to watch ourselves that we not be carnal minded but instead are Spiritual minded. That is something even the least mature Christian should know.

Nick.
In reply #812820 you said “no” when I believe you meant “yes” as terrarica did quote a passage that spoke of carnal wisdom and Spiritual wisdom.

Terrarica,

Spiritual things do not make sense to the unspiritual.

Nick,
You are referring to Hebrews 10:29. If those words mean the the ability to walk according to the Spirit of God then I agree.
That does not disagree with my earlier words.

Thank you.

Nick,
Hi KW,
Only those who have been reborn from above can claim that God is at work in them to will and to do.
That statement is incorrect except in the context of the new covenant like it is written in Philippians 2.
God’s grace comes in many forms, among which is he favors all humans to have to chance reach out and find him.
Acts…

Thank you. That verse from Psalms is appropriate.

Nick,
The mind is educated by the Spirit and becomes spiritual able to discern spiritual things.
The soul seems to remain as is
Yes, but the heart is also taught.

Nick,
You said:
The spirit of man returns to God
The body returns to earth from whence it came.
Remember man that thou art dust and unto dust thou shalt return.
The mind is educated by the Spirit and becomes spiritual able to discern spiritual things.
The soul seems to remain as is
You point out to Ed that spirit means “soul” in some…[Read more]

Nick,
The only difference between renew and renovate is the context they are used in.
A spirit is not renovated as it is not a physical context. A human body can be renovated because it is physical.
The old man might be renewed to become the new man as the only difference is that one walks according to the flesh and the other walks according…[Read more]

Nick,
The inward man is the spirit of a man and after a individual has received the Spirit of God it is constantly being renewed as that believer matures in Christ.
The new man is when it is full renewed and the old man is when it has not been conceived of the Spirit.

Ed,
Hi Kerwin,
“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” (2 Cor 4:16)
I have to constantly unravel your ‘spin’ – 2Corinthians 4:16 is about those who have already been born again.
Jesus was telling Nicodemus: that he(Nicodemus) too had to be born again to see the “Kingdom…kerwin replied to the topic in the forum JOHN 1:1 who is the WORD? 9 years, 10 months ago

Nick,
My question answered your question if we believe the same thing about grace, i.e. God creating our will is his grace as it is a gift from God.
Essentially grace is a synonym of favor.
kerwin replied to the topic in the forum Preexistence 9 years, 10 months ago
Nick,
What does grace mean?

Gene,
Your words are confusing.
Are you claiming humans are a physical creation?
kerwin replied to the topic in the forum Preexistence 9 years, 10 months ago
Nick,
Yes, God created our will.
