Nick,
I have no idea when a person received the human spirit. I doubt it occurs when they are a conceptus since they are a one celled creature at that stage. It is possible as even the gametes that fuse appear to have the breath of life; but then so do trees which are considered physical creations in scripture.
On the other hand I have more…[Read more]

Ed,
Before I answer that you must understand that I am confident the title “The Spirit of Christ” is a alias for the Spirit of God, whose purpose is to illustrate Jesus’ position as mediator between God and humanity. I also disagree with your interpretation of Micah 5:2.
Yes, I believe Jesus was born with the Spirit of Christ having receive…[Read more]

Nick,
I can only go by what Jesus teaches and what he states is the Spirit of God teaches us.
I know that we are also instructed to get a new spirit even we have a human spirit.
I know the inward man is renewed as is the spirit of our minds.
I also know the Law, word, of God is written on our hearts by the Spirit.
It is my understanding…[Read more]

Nick,
Ephesians 4:21-24 supports what I understand and not your conclusion as it states “spirit of your mind‘. There is a relations to the heart as well since it is written:
2 Corinthians 3:1-3Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
3 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or…

Nick,
I am not entirely confident of this but I think you are mistaken about the meaning of “Our own spirit returns to Him at death”.
I know for sure the spirit in that passage is speaking of the breath but I am not sure if the breath of life is not also the spirit of our actions. If so then it was corrupted by the fall and that idea sits…[Read more]

Terrarica,
Less I loose track of my points here they are summarized.
- There is no evidence that Jesus’s soul came or did not come from above.
- There is no direct evidence the human soul comes or does not come from above.
- There is solid evidence Jesus’ body was made of Mary and so did not come from above
- There is solid evidence Jesus’…

Nick,
Hi KW,
So you believe the Spirit of God is a regenerate human spirit?
Is your God of man?
You are going beyond what I said.
Jesus teaches us that God walks by teaches our . In this way we can obtain a new spirit that bears the fruits of God’s Spirit.
That teaching is the renewal of the inward man.

Terrarica,
Nick has a point though I prefer using Luke 4:18-19 as proof of that point.
Luke 4:18-19Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to…

Terrarica,
John 10:38Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
Do you think Jesus is speaking of his fruit of his spirit or his miracles?
The words “the Father is in me, and I in him” are speaking of the unity of…[Read more]

Nick,
It is my understanding that is the human spirit that renewed after the one who created us. Jesus’ spirit did not have to be renewed so I used “formed” instead.

Nick,
I have no idea where you obtain that idea.
Perhaps you will point out that you understand that way.

Nick,
I was not directly addressing the Spirit in that post. I also was not addressing his speech except that it is an action.
Jesus’ spirit was made{formed} of the Hold Spirit and so he has continuously existed is the form of God. It is for that reason he was a worthy sacrifice. The word came to the prophets and spoke but they were not a…[Read more]

Terrarica,
I understand the inward self of Jesus is from heaven but in this case the inward self is not his soul but rather his spirit.
He is from above but those that do not believe are from below. The father of his spirit is God while the father of unbelievers is Satan. This is what Jesus told certain Jews and in that case it is certain he…[Read more]

Terrarica,
It is literally written that Jesus Christ is the human being that sacrificed his life for his brothers.
I know that you quote a passage that you conclude means that no human being can sacrifice his life for his brother but then that interpretation/translation contradicts 1 Timothy 2:5 while no sinner can save his his brother does not.

Terrarica,
You seem to be misusing the word surrogate.
The flesh of all men, with the exception of Adam and Eve, is made of a woman. Since you admit that Jesus is human in this way then Mary is not Jesus’ surrogate mother.
The breath came from God in the beginning and with it the man becomes a living soul.
Your claim is that Jesus’ soul is…[Read more]

Terrarica,
You do not believe the words Jesus was made of a woman are literally true but instead chose to believe that Colossians 1 is literal and not speaking of the union of Jesus and the word of God.
Every other passage you cite to support your doctrine can also be interpreted in such a way as to agree the statement that Jesus is a human…[Read more]

Terrarica,
Jesus is the Son of Adam, through Nathan.
Even though some claim Adam had a wife previous to Eve I do not see real Scriptural support for it. I doubt that you believe it either but who knows.
It is not written that Jesus son but it is written he is her son.
We know where Jesus’ flesh comes from because Scripture tells is he was…[Read more]

Terrarica,
If you chose to read what is written and nothing else then you are in error.
Instead read and seek to understand what is written.

I understand that Jesus is a human soul within immortal human flesh though at one time his flesh was mortal; as is ours currently.

Nick,
It shows ignorance by on the man.
Have you considered my audience and my point?
My audience believes that he both transformed into flesh and came into flesh.
A contradiction I chose to draw attention to. Sometimes focusing of the flesh serves a Spiritual purpose.
For example John’s focusing on the flesh serves the purpose of…[Read more]
