miia,
Ananias, with Sapphira committed the sin of lying to the Holy Spirit. I think it is the unforgettable sin because they dropped dead when confronted by Peter.

Gene,
Even after a Christian believes and starts adhering to the gospel they must continue to repent and confess in order to continue to receive forgiveness.
If a person asks for forgiveness and does not repent and confess their sin then they can expect nothing from God.

Terrarica,
The devil preaches from Scripture.

miia,
It is blaspheming the Holy Spirit for sure. It is also treating the blood of Jesus as an unworthy thing. I also suspect it is lying to the Holy Spirit. Other than that I have no idea.

942767,
John seems to be saying we are to confess our sins and the result of confessing them is that he both forgives us and cleanses us of unrighteousness.
His words seem to hint that we do not ask for forgiveness as will be given to use in response to confession of a sin.

t8,
I did answer it by pointing out every human being comes in the flesh. The word took on the characteristic of humanity. In short both came in the flesh. Jesus Christ embodies the word that comes out of God mouth. For the same reason he is also called the power and wisdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:24)

1 John 5:16-17Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

I do believe the religion of Science does teach the universe is eternal though at one time it approached a size of 0 but never actually was that size. The talk about the “Big Bang” is the first noticeable growth of the universe not the actual first growth which scientist have clue of when it occurred according to their doctrine.

Marty,
I was looking for a explicit enough statement that it could be seen asking for forgiveness was a obvious part of the gospel.

Gene,
Though both Ed and Gene mentioned passage that may include asking forgiveness in the general terms Psa 32:5 is about confessing sins and in at least some instances being forgiven by God. It does sound like the aftermath of the publican who confessed he was a sinner and then cried for mercy.

Ed,
I see where the publican confessed his sinful condition and begged God to be merciful to him. God’s may include forgiveness but I think it is more than that. It is a thing to look up.

tigger,
Matthew 6:121599 Geneva Bible (GNV)
12 And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
I can see where that would cover asking God to forgive us of our sins as we forgive others of their sins though it is more generic in form. My search was for an explicit statement.
The article I read claimed is was a basic tenet of the…[Read more]

When reading about U.S. candidate for President Ben Carson I read where he claimed he did not ask God for forgiveness. This inspired me to do a search of the AV of the KJV and I failed to find either ask or pray for forgiveness. I there a scripture that supports the idea we are to ask God for forgiveness?

t8,
Every human comes in the flesh as “in the flesh” means physically present.
John spoke of it in two places and some think it was targeting Gnostics that taught Jesus was an immaterial being even as he lived his mortal life.
This reinforces the teaching that the word took on the characteristic of humanity.

terrarica,
It is obvious that you do not following the scriptures
What you mean is that I do not follow your words as I clearly follow a more liberal understanding of much of John 1 and then apply that understanding to Colossians 1.
Here is another passage.

Terrarica,
FYI: I use “the Word that comes out of God’s mouth” instead of just “the Word” as too many assume that “the Word” is the name of Jesus.
kerwin replied to the topic in the forum JOHN 1:1 who is the WORD? 10 years, 6 months ago
Terarica,
Col 1:15 He(Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
That is another assumption though it has more evidence from the context in it. Jews are known to call Wisdom the daughter of God so Son can actually be referring to the word of God. It does not care since Jesus is the Word that has been given the…[Read more]

please show me your version ,by changing the names between brackets like i did for this is my understanding so show me yours ?
I do not have to use brackets since my version is what John 1:1-10 literally states.

Kw
The HE in that scriptures was referring to Jesus this is why I pointing it out
Now if you Don, t agree with it show me that John was not talking about Jesus

Lox1,
Hello!
Genesis 1:26 is a vague passage as there is no context to teach us who us is for certain. Why God chose to hide why he used the word “us” is a mystery. We can speculate but in doing so we are to be careful not to support heresy.
