Miia,
I am a student at UIS and the schoolwork only ends with the semester but I take breaks from it when I have the time.

Nick,
I see no boasting; just disappointment that one that claims to be a brother did not understand that basic point. Cast off that which obscures your sight.
kerwin replied to the topic The Comfort Zone in the forum Visions & Testimonies 10 years, 5 months ago
Nick,
You oppose the teachings of Christ because you do not understand them. If you did then you would understand it necessary to have the listen to the Spirit in order to understand the words of God.
The letter of Scripture can be interpreted in different ways but the Spirit is the way to truth.

Nick,
So you fail to understand the lesson of Proverbs 26:4-5.
What other lessons do you not understand?
kerwin replied to the topic The Comfort Zone in the forum Visions & Testimonies 10 years, 5 months ago
Nick,
Your need to read my whole post as Scripture does teach us to Judge lest we be judged for it teaches us to judge our life and doctrine less we be condemned.
It is a lesson how the same words can be interpreted to be interpreted to mean different things.
Here is an example of the same lesson from Scripture.
Proverbs 26:4-5Authorized…

Bab edh-Dhra and Numeira are better candidates but they seem too small and 2200BC seems to early.

To whomever it may concern,
Here is interesting timing.
Wikipedia entry on “Roman Civil Wars”
Year of the Four Emperors (AD 69), between various Romans following the death of Nero (AD 68). After Nero’s suicide, the generals Galba, Otho, and Vitellius take the throne within months of each other. General Vespasian, who until that point was…

t8,
In the United States many claim to worship God but their fruit is the those that claim to be Atheist. The U.S. still has the word God in their anthem and on their coins but it is just a word if the people do not serve God with the words and actions.

Miia,
I posted about the Ebionites because I suspect they are Christians that were kicked out of Rome.

To all,
I find Justin’s account interesting because the divisions he attributes to these Jewish Christians are the same ones that existed in the church testified in the book of Acts.
Some of the foes claim they the Ebonies hold to James the Brother of Jesus but not Paul. This seems reasonable of the legalistic Jews Justin Martyr mentions but…[Read more]

To whomever it concerns;
Also from the same article.
As the Ebionites are first mentioned as such in the 2nd century, their earlier history and any relation to the first Jerusalem church remains obscure and a matter of contention. There is no evidence linking the origin of the later sect of the Ebionites with the First Jewish-Roman War of…

To whomever it may concern,
Wikipedia article on Ebionites
The earliest reference to a group that might fit the description of the later Ebionites appears in Justin Martyr’s Dialogue with Trypho (c. 140). Justin distinguishes between Jewish Christians who observe the Law of Moses but do not require its observance upon others, and those who…

To whomever is concerned,
An except from “Aelia Capitolina, Jerusalem as a Roman Pagan City“.
Just as David built his altar on the site of the Jebusite altar some thousand years earlier, the Romans built two temples to displace Jewish and Christian worship at Jerusalem’s holy sites. On the Temple Mount Hadrian built a temple to Jupiter. Literary…

AndrewAD,
He clearly plays to his audience. Some of may come off false and to many of those who object to giving money to a church would object to giving money to just about anything. Hopefully he is seeking God’s righteousness and kingdom and not his own sinful interests.

Nick,
I have not yet learned all things but I do know that we are taught to judge ourselves and others by the fruit that we each display.
kerwin replied to the topic The Comfort Zone in the forum Visions & Testimonies 10 years, 5 months ago
Nick,
It would be wise to take the beam out of your own eye and reread my last post because I did not judge anyone in what I wrote.
I earlier stated most people did not come out of the light because the evidence is overwhelming that is so. The church would be in a lot better shape if it was not.

AndrewAD,
The way what I say is true is to judge your actions.
Bono claims to be a brother so he can be judged by his fruits.
None of what you have write about him are things that are bad fruits but the fruits I do not know may be of the flesh. Believers who live by the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. The standards are…[Read more]
