AndrewAD,
No,Comfort doesn’t preach one can accept Christ and keep on sinning without concern. Some other evangelicals consider Comfort a legalist for his outspoken stance against that very thing.
My source may be wrong or misrepresent his view by using a little of what he states out of context.

I see a few other errors he makes. 1) he puts too much stress on the ten commandments which are but part of the law. To be particular they are the part of the Law God was able to speak before the Hebrew became to terrified of hearing his voice he also write them on stone. The rest he imparted to the Hebrew people through Moses. 2) he…[Read more]

Lox1,
The Abrahamic covenant had fewer laws that you credit it with and the Law of Moses more.
The 613 laws are 3rd Century Jewish interpretation of the Law of Moses.

Considering the length of time he has studied Scripture he already know that Jesus is not God but is in denial. Denial is a tough thing to handle.

The date of its abandonment is prior the Exodus (1406) and after the Israel and his children went down into Egypt (1875BC) so it is no surprised it is not recorded in Scripture. If it was abandoned around the time the children of Israel return that return may have been the reason since I believe the people of the land of Canaan did abandon…[Read more]

Jesus is also called the power and wisdom of God in Paul’s 1st letter to the Corinthians. (1:24 AV of the KJV)

I understand a being can bear the title of a concept such as “the Word” or “”Wisdom” which makes it difficult determine whether a concept is being personalized or it is instead a person. The Koine Greek, Hebrew, and Latin use of gender of a pronoun to speak of the gender of the noun being replaces makes it more difficult to judge whether the…[Read more]

All I can do it point to Philo of Alexander a contemporary of John who uses logos much as John does in his writings. According to Philo, the logos was the plan or ideas of the thing to be created. From that point of view the word with God as it is in his mind.
I am sure John had a deeper view of the logos than Philo seems in his…[Read more]

Miia,
I intend to follow a Jewish based Christianity and the Messianic Age is well known. The “rapture” seems to be a word to describe the idea of ” shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 AV of the KJV) and “Then shall two be in the field;…[Read more]

Welcome to the heavennet forums!
Yes, immersion in water is an elemental teaching of the gospel and yet it is controversial in today’s church. That is a grievous thing.

I suspect Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed much as Pompey was and that will make them hard to find unless hints from the bible and other sources lead archaeologists to there location. I find it hard to believe either was rebuilt but that cannot be ruled out.

I do not no at what point in its expansion our Sun is thought to turn red but I doubt the sun expanding is what would happen as that is foreknown to be the doom of the earth and the expansion of the Sun would be a bigger sign than that of the moon turning color.

It is an issue that the solution does not seem necessary to salvation.
The world as we know it will be destroyed by a cleansing fire then a new world will be made though it may be a transformation of that which remains. If it is instead a completely new earth then so be it.
If I wanted to speculate I would say the Sun would become a red…[Read more]

You might want to parse through Matthew 24:5 as its words are not as easily understood as you apear to think and so they seem to make both your own and Ed’s point’s depending on the readers point of view.

To whomever it may concern,
Not all who read the book of Revelation have eyes that see and not all that hear it spoken have ears to hear it. Seek first God’s righteousness and his kingdom and all else will be given to you.(Matthew 6:33)
