Why is what you call truth any more valid than what a Muslim views as truth? Or a Mormon? Or any other religious adherent? Truth in faith is highly subjective and not the monopoly of any certain people.Your view of God: He created the whole universe but only decided to reveal Himself through a tribe of people and then through a handful of people…[Read more]

No Nick, you do not trust in God. Rather you trust in a book written about a certain handful of people's idea about God. Your God is in B&W, my God is all the colors of the universe because it is He who is found throughout. We can pick up some clues about Him through religious texts, but not all. And we will not know all about Him in this lifetime…

I believe much the same way, except I don't believe that God will raise up some only to kill them again. Rather, once they die, they stay that way. This life is it for them. Anyone who thinks God will raise people up only to pronounce them guilty and cast them in a lake of fire sees God as a cruel vengeful dictator who relishes torment.

That is your opinion and not based in anything but. You feel safer placing your trust in a book while I do not. That is the fallacy of all human religions: they see their way as THE way to God. Again, a human trait called selfishness.
kejonn replied to the topic Salvation and Christian Theology in the forum Faith 16 years, 9 months ago
Sure, why not? Many have done so. In fact, most of the books in the NT were revised anyway.Seriously, your view of God is that He has many human characteristics because that is how the bible portrays Him. You can accept this of Him, me I'd rather believe He doesn't have baser human instincts. Else He is man and not God.

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Feb. 18 2008,18:43)Hi david, Is everyone saved when they die?Does no soul finish in the lake of fire?Nick,Can you really hold to the concept of God raising some people up again to judge them and then kill them again? Why not just leave them dead and let it be? Is it so they can “suffer” one more time and so God can say “I told you so”?
