More from Zarathushtra – Source of the Judeo-Christian HeritageWe use words such as ‘satan,’ ‘paradise,’ ‘amen’ almost daily without knowing, however, their Zarathushti origin. We all know of the three magi that predicted the birth of Christ. So sad, however, is the state of our ignorance about this religion, that few are today aware that th…[Read more]

Excerpts from Influence of Zarathushtrian faith on the Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity and IslamThe Jews found many congenial elements and similar ideas in their faith. Both had many common beliefs such as belief in one God, coming of a Messiah and a strict code of behavior and ethics. The Jews had progressed much in their ethical and…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Mar. 24 2008,19:41)Hi KJ, What discernment do you have on the matter? We have had some who find Harry Potter inspired.Just the discernment given to all humans who have an open mind and who do not ignore fallacies to hold on to some belief out of fear of some supposed divine wrath.

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Mar. 24 2008,17:02)Hi KJ, You will need the Spirit of God to discern what is of God or just the minds of foolish men.And let me guess…the spirit of God says only the bible is the words of God, all else is of men. Right? How brutally convenient.

No, but they are written by humans, just like the bible. There is nothing anointed about the bible unless you mean it is anointed with the blood of slaughtered enemies of the Jews.

Found this while searching. From Zarathushtrian Theodicy:The other straightforward answer is to deny that the God is all-powerful. This was the answer of Sassanian Zoroastrianism. By the Sassanian period, Ahura Mazda and Spenta Mainyu had become regarded as the same entity, Ormuzd. Angra Mainya, the dark twin of Spenta Mainyu, now as Ah…[Read more]

I'll agree with that, and believe in both lines. However, I know you believe that God is defined by the bible and it is that view of God we must have faith in. So I can only agree with those two lines at face value.

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Mar. 24 2008,15:47)Hi KJ, God was in Christ and in Paul and is shown in the sacred writings. Belief is optional but has huge advantages. What advantages? A promise of something that may or may not come to pass? How is that advantageous?

BTW Nick, you've still yet to say what worship is to you, and how you serve God.

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Mar. 24 2008,15:11)Hi KJ,Paul worked many miracles in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He brought many to the foot of the cross to empower them for eternity. Are you good enough to judge the goodness of God?Not the goodness of God, just the fallacy of a book written by humans about God. I don't have any problem judging books.

How is Paul proven? Because he wrote some letters to Gentiles, smoothing over their lack of belief in odd doctrines?Besides, I don't need a witness because I am not looking for any to follow me. I just offer my beliefs and opinions, based on how I feel about a God who is not a super human, but an all-good God who created everything.

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Mar. 24 2008,14:26)Hi KJ, Yes. And over 500 are witnesses to the fact. Perhaps you would need to have been there, but would you have believed then?So says one of the people who never saw the resurrected Jesus (Paul). Now that's a reliable witness.
