Yes Charity, I understand. It can be sad to realize that what you were led to believe wasn't quite true. But then again, you were only given so much info to begin with. But the good stuff may be the stuff that made its way through. Sadly so did the bad, written by power hungry men.

Some things Jesus said could be timeless, but in other parts he was stuck too. Mat 5:17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. Mat 5:18 “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.…[Read more]

Well according to the OT, wome were second class too. So it seems that only the heterosexual man had full rights in those days. Everyone else needed to either make sacrifices or be killed for who they were.

Well, to get it back to something “closer to home”, it wasn't too long back where interracial relationships were frowned upon. Today's homosexuals are yesterday's black/white couple. I even sat under a pastor who tried to justify this bigoted viewpoint using the bible. In the same way you say you would be sad if one of your children was gay, I…[Read more]

Here's a question for people to answer: if Yahweh appeared to Abraham, Moses, the whole of the nation of Israel, etc., why would he expect us to believe in him based solely on a book? After all, they had the real encounters according to the bible. So Abraham truly had less faith than those who accept him by believing in the bible alone because he…[Read more]

Quote (theodorej @ April 16 2008,07:11)So in closing the slaughter of women and children are the acts of men who have no regard for God let alone his commandments….You do realize it was Yahweh and his chosen people who were slaughtering the women and children, right?

But the 10 commandments were given to the Jews to follow, not the ones the Jews and Yahweh slaughtered on their march to the “Promised Land”. So why did Yahweh find it necessary to kill 2 million people (excluding the flood) according to the OT?
