The Mormons believe God IS flesh but no blood. How's that for explaining how we are created in His image

There are many NT verses that are straightforward so I will not be using them just yet. I think most can agree with many of the obvious ones. But I'd like to start from the beginning, and this will not be so direct, but I think it will lend some insight and give us some direction. All verses will be from NASB unless noted.
Genesis 1 26 Then God…

942767,Just so I know, do you believe in the doctrines of Trinity or Oneness? Just want to be sure because I'm wanting answers from those who don't adhere to these doctrines. If you do not, how do you explain Jesus in the hierarchy of Heaven? I am aware of all of the verses you quoted, but none of them really lets us know where Jesus fits in. Is he…[Read more]

Nick,No doubt. I believe as you do in the statements above. But who is this Jesus? He is Son of God, but what does that make him in relation to God the Father besides the only begotten Son of God? Is he deity or something else altogether? He is not an angel, he is not Almighty God, who is he? Do we just stop at Son of God and leave it there? This…[Read more]

Well, its not looking good. Those who do not believe in the Trinity or Oneness are either in fear of the answer of whether or not Christianity is polytheistic or really do not know who Jesus is. I'm not saying I do other than what I know of him, but there is no escaping that the begotten Son of God is not God the Father and he is not an angel.…[Read more]

Quote (acertainchap @ June 30 2007,11:29)So you don't believe in the trinity….then why does the Bible speak of God in plural? If you give me a good reason then I will quit believing this issue.ACC, don't just believe one way or the other based on someone's posts. They may sound good, logical, and reasonable, but it is very important that you…[Read more]

Not3in1,The reason I'm asking for Trinitarians only is because I do not want this thread to denigrate into whether or not the Trinity is true or not. That thread already exists.By posting this thread, I'm challenging Trinitarians to rethink whether or not this is a necessary belief. I think that, like my pastor, some feel it is necessary for true…[Read more]

Ken,Thanks again. I understand where you are coming from but I'm still wanting an answer from those who don't hold to the doctrines of Trinity or Oneness on whether or not Christianity is polytheistic. As far as “where does it say that” about Duality -> Trinity, I don't know that it does. I do know that in formal creeds, the concept of God the…[Read more]

The reason I asked this is because my pastor knows that I have been questioning the validity of the Trinity. I recently withdrew from singing in the choir because I did not feel I could give full glory to God as a praise leader until I resolved this in my heart. Here are some of his statements:
My first reaction was, “Is he serious?” Kejonn , you…

acertainchap, does that mean you hold to Matthew 19:17?
And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
That is good because I fear too many water down the Gospel by merely stating that belief in Christ as savior is sufficient. I do not really…[Read more]

Quote (acertainchap @ June 30 2007,07:00)I do believe in the trinity but that all three: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one, as well. Thanks, acertainchap. Perhaps I should clarify that I would like those who don't hold to the doctines of Trinity or Oneness to explain whether or not Christianity is polytheistic.

kenrch,The truth is all in that statement. Very well said. However, would that be your only reply to someone who questioned you much as I have? The reason I say this is because your statement, while valid, would leave most who are questioning without an aswer. Again, to me, this very concept is the reason Trinity and Oneness came about.I don't ask…[Read more]

. What I mean is thanks for the reply which was good stuff, but it doesn't really answer the question of whether or not Christianity is polytheistic. Wikipedia says of polytheism:Polytheism is belief in or worship of multiple gods or deities. The belief in many gods does not necessarily preclude the belief in an all-powerful…
