I'm not concerned who conceived the Trinity, just that it was NOT taught by Jesus. Again, I must repeat, if the doctrine is supposedly foundational to our faith, and it directly involved Jesus, why did he not teach it? That is why I issued this challenge.

Nick,Yes, But what exactly does calling him “Lord, Lord” mean in this context? I can call someone lord but not honor him, serve him, and seek to please him. I think that is where the rubber meets the road.

Thanks Nick, sorry I created a new thread on the Body of Christ, but the other one seemed to be heading in a different direction than I wanted to move in so I did not want to tag on to it.Quote (Nick Hassan @ July 05 2007,11:09)Hi KJ,Entry into the Body of Christ is by faith, but faith alone is insufficient-even demons believe. No, I'm just showing Jesus did not teach the Trinity. Some feel that this doctrine is essential to Christianity and I want them to show that the one who originated Christianity taught such a belief. If they cannot, I can only assume that they think they know more than the one whose name is the basis of their faith.

Quote (WorshippingJesus @ July 04 2007,05:46)KSo you think the Apostles had full knowledge when they went into the world? They had the full knowledge of the gospel message, else why would Paul say in Gal 1:9
As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!

Wow, guess Jesus didn't know he was part of the triune God. I hope he “got a clue” when he got back to Heaven. He should be glad that those who came after him were able to show us his error.

WJ, don't have time to answer to all of your post, but I will ask you this: Do you believe that belief in the Trinity is necessary for salvation? Is so, look back over your post and realize what you have said. You basically said that belief in the Trinity was NOT necessary for the 1st century believers, so why is it necessary now? If you say it…[Read more]

So basically we know the answer from WJ and IS
. I mean, after all, if the Trinity is what all people say it is, it should be evident without taking 50 scriptures and tying them together and saying “see, I told you so”. Just out of curiosity, I wonder if Philip made certain that the Ethiopian went away with the proper salvation; that is, the…[Read more]kejonn replied to the topic The Truth in the forum Truth or Tradition 18 years, 8 months ago
Faith of Jesus or faith in Jesus? Let us clarify, shall we?

CO,Just curious, but where do you get ENTOAWN? Are you using the CLNT again? All other versions use either commands or commandments. The word used is entole, which according to Strong's can be translated as “injunction, i.e. an authoritative prescription:–commandment, precept.” Yes precept is in there, but I gave the meaning of precept above. You…[Read more]

Hi folks, I think these verses sum up the role of the commandments in our life as Christians:
1 John 2:1-51 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but…

ACC, it would have to be just an opinion. Satan knows that his only recourse is to pull down every person he can, therefore keeping them from God's presence.
